Ariel is such a tasteful and inspiring player. I enjoyed this thoroughly going through what he looks for - how he gets the sounds that "he" uses - explained in a really direct and understandable manner both verbally and through his playing. That rig sounds spectacular.

I would argue that The jimi hendrix way of using fuzz is rolling down The volume for enhanced clean like on castles made of sand. I think Michael thompson demonstrated this on one of HIS videos. Thanks for a Nice interview. I think ITS up there with The captain, The pedal guys and Phil and pete's guitar show. IT would have been Nice if you could demonstrate old tc gear. 2290, 1210, The tcf, line driver, phaser sustain para and the old parametric Eqs.

Try it after the Spring Reverb also. Finishing a chain with slap back delay, spring reverb and trem gives you the authentic Surf Rock drip tone. Check out Mr.Black's Deluxe Deluxe Plus pedal. Its a Fender deluxe reverb and Trem circuit in one pedal and the Trem is after the tremolo.

I tried this chain with my pedals, but putting my compressor after the overdrives meant that when I stack overdrives I can’t get a volume boost as my compressor is limiting the volume.

Plant Powered Dad didn’t really work either way for me. So I’m a pretty high gain distortion user which has its own compression. I use the SP compressor alone for funk. I’m still not getting the stacking of those 2 together. At least in my home. Yet if u say have a kemper u can add compression and distortion it sounds great. FYI overall kempers not that great. In feel and sound. Always go back to an amp and a pedal. FYI TC dark matter is a really good distortion pedal and yet it’s on reverb for cheap. If I was just starting out there’s so much available now for great prices.

How do you get two different delays out of the Flashback in two loops? At 38:33 Tore talks about this. But how do you physically set a second longer delay on the same TC Flashback delay pedal, that you send to another loop in your switcher? So you end up with a short and longer delay in two loops in your switcher. Thanks in advance!

Great show, good video production. I am a big fan of Ariel and Tore. They worked well together for this session. I also got to hear some of TC's pedals that I haven't played myself. Question: there were some other pedals on the table - were they tried? I saw the Cinders and the Spark, for example.

Hi William. Yeah they were tried, but Ariel decided on the El Cambo and as he explains actually likes to use a second drive as a kind of boost function.

Tore, I use a Quartermaster and a Flashback2. I am interested in the dual delay sounds in different loops that you were mentioning. How does that work? How do you dial in two different sounds simultaneously? How does the pedal switch between them? Does the Quartermaster tell the pedal to change?

Oh. The dual delay setting toneprint. I get it now. Now a different question: I have in/out 1 outside of my Quartermaster, and in/out 2 in a QMX loop. If I'm running it that way, with the in/out 2 QMX loop switched off, am I still getting the full mono sound out of in/out 1, or is it half a stereo signal? Freakin' cool stuff. Thanks.
