He was asked about fighting Umar in the lead up to his last fight and he flipped out and walked away from the interview saying “who the f**k is Umar?”. UFC was pushing for Umar after he beat the number 1 contender but all Merab has been doing was sh*ting on Umar. After he beat Sean he was calling for everyone but Umar despite the UFC wanting that fight next. That alone is enough disrespect to warrant the Twitter responses from Umar. In their recent incident at the press conference Merab approached Umar to confront him and asked why did he disrespect him and Umar responds with where. Merab says it again and Umar asks him to clarify how he disrespected him. After Merab doesn’t answer and shows he is only there to try to punk him Umar responds with “because I can, what are you going to do about it?”. Merab is trying to label Umar as some bad guy but he is just upset that he has to fight Umar. The truth is Merab prefers to have 2 or 3 more fights before fighting Umar because his chances losing to Umar are much higher than fights against Yan,Figgy and O’Malley.
