@Grogers704262 күн бұрын
He seems like he is just sitting around talking to a friend instead it being an interview. It's definitely one reason I enjoy watching his show, no pre-show questions about the same thing that has been asked by every other member of the media, he'll ask follow-up questions if given an answer that is interesting. I can't count the number of times I've seen other interviews and they'll ask a good question that gets a response and from the answer u can tell there is something to be said right behind it but other media won't bother with the follow-up and move on to something totally different, I've yelled at my phone for the person to ask the follow-up bc I wanted to know more about whatever it may have been. Unfortunately there's very few ppl that ask questions like Ariel does, we definitely need more media to be like that instead of the same generic question & answer shit that is everywhere.

When Jon said Jamahal's name, I was so confused bc Hill doesn't do anything to "improve Jon's legacy" especially when he said that he wants to fight established champions. Tom is more of an established champion than Hill, considering Tom has a defense of the interim belt. Jamahal won the belt in a thrown together fight bc Jan v. Ank ended in split draw and it pissed Dana off. Hill was supposed to fight Anthony Smith in March, but got paired against Glover in January. He destroyed his Achilles in a basketball game during IFW (July) but didn't vacate until Nov.

Jon didnt make stipe look slow. Stipe was undoubtedly very slow and Jon just wasnt as slow. Rewatch his fights during his reign, you can see the difference clearly. Jon didnt make stipe slower, he capitalized on a much slower opponent showing his age and did what he was supposed to do. You can't convince me that current francis, tom, even cyril gane don't also dispatch of that stipe within 3 rounds

So much cope. It was like fighting Gane, you can’t judge a fighter well without seeing them in trouble. So it’s either he’s that good , or we don’t know if he’s a legit heavyweight . But since DC was a great heavyweight I feel like there is so much cope going on now . Jon is good . Let’s get the Aspinal fight we all want , the promotion booked jones vs stipe before Tom became big . I can’t think of one example of a fight scheduled , the fans gooo wild for another, then they change it . Why did people think that was reasonable this time ? At this point I am the contrarian you guys want to be claiming Jon is no good. All in a cult of hating Jon and thinking Tom is the best ever . I think Francis beats Tom , we all don’t know yet .

They also probably are trying to claim Jon beat Dominick Reyes 🤣😂

Thank you! Ariel needs to check himself, shitting on Stipe like that. All your points are valid. How does fighting a 40 something year old, vet, firefighter, basically retired leading up to the fight, cement your legacy. That’s like when Izzy fought Silva, it did nothing for Izzy. Jon’s just hand picking his opponents and ducking the young competition. Like Daddy Dana has said before, Jon was the young, hungry contender at one point and the Champ at the time gave him that opportunity. But, it seems Jon knows he ain’t that young lion anymore, and knows Aspinall ain’t no joke. Back to Ariel’s bitch ass, Stipe definitely was out of it, he was not in the game. All through the lead up, press conference, interviews. He would know better than all of us based off his interviews with him. Definitely was over it, didn’t seem his usual self. So a big F you to Ariel. Keep glazing Jone’s nuts.

It was awful in so many ways, and i had to go into work the next day and hear everyone come up to me and tell me how stupid and boring boxing is, and they can't believe they stayed up for garbage. And how sad it was. Boxing got the biggest kick in the balls right when it was getting somewhere again, because people wanted this netflix money, and didn't care about Mike's health this much, that you're all now lashing out because you don't like that people are upset with you being a part of this classless, trashy, regressive event that you can't even concede on the technical problems that occurred
@aim66133 күн бұрын
What Ariel said is correct about your coworkers saying "how stupid and boring boxing is" is correct, they never tune in to those fights in the first place. Does Canelo's next fight, Benavidez vs Morrell, Beterbiev vs Bivol 2, Fury vs Usyk 2 get less viewers now because of Jake Paul? I don't think so. To Ariel's point more people watched Mario Barrios and Abel Ramos fight than they ever would have other wise. Serrano vs Taylor 2 was the most watched women's sporting event in the US, that's a win in my opinion.

They even did a Face to Face where jake paul did a long monologue about how Tyson was taking food off pauls plate and they have to go to war. Tyson, before showing off his ass cheeks, even said "vicious win" Its awfully defensive of you to call the public stupid for taking the 2 people who were boxing at their word.

Being a fan of Tyson when I was in my early teens, I had a very teeny tiny percentage that was hoping to see a fraction of a prime Mike. The rest of me knew that Mike is sniffing 60 and there's a reason that the majority of athletes hang it up by time they hit their mid 40s. I knew that he was going to be slower bc it's a part of getting older. I was hoping that he still had his power, but it requires footwork and when I saw him wearing the knee brace I realized that he wasn't going to have his power. With the bum knee, he wasn't going to be able to plant his feet and land with the great devastating power. I had told my mom and step-dad that Mike is gonna have 4 minutes max. My step-dad thought that he was going to be the same Tyson from the early 90s and I told him that Father Time catches everyone. I can't believe at how naive so many ppl can be. What else did they expect from a boxer(that was destroying ppl in his prime) that had been retired for about 20 years. I can't believe that some thought that Mike was going to be exactly the same way he was last century. I grew up watching Mike in the late 80s and then his return in the mid-late 90s, I had a very teeny tiny percentage that wanted to see him possibly still have 1/8th of what he had back then. Unfortunately during his walkout I realized he wasn't even going to have that much, seeing the knee brace was the confirmation that he was going to be less than 1/16th of his old self. I saw the brace and said well so much for him having footwork or being able to plant his feet and sit down on his power shots. It was then that I was hoping that Mike could somehow make it to the scorecards, bc I damn sure didn't want to see him laying on his back staring at the ceiling. I was asking myself, does Jake realize he gains nothing if he wins by KO bc he would have way more haters than he does now. I only watched the top 3 matches, mainly wanted to see Taylor/Serrano but when I turned it on it was ring announcements for Barrios/Ramos and I was competitive back and forth. Even tho at times Barrios didn't look like a -1500 favorite, especially when he got dropped and then kept getting tagged with the right hook that would land behind his guard.

I think people feel their time was wasted with the Mike Tyson Vs Jake Paul fight. It was marketed brilliantly. Almost too brilliantly with Jake promising “he must die!!!” and all that. Plus the slap etc. The training clips showed Tyson was more ready but those were probably for very short bursts of strikes. Tyson probably also had a massive adrenaline dump which weakened him further to a point where he could hardly throw any punches at all.
@Grogers704262 күн бұрын
Did u see DJ's video where he talked about the slap? When I first saw the clip I was just focused on Mike and Jake, but after he played the clip, I noticed that the ring card girls and the guy in the black shirt on the side that Jake was on, they didn't even move their eyes in the direction of Mike. It was probably staged, bc usually when something like that happens everybody is at least gonna look. The only ppl that moved were already near Mike

Hogan/Andre met in a battle royal on Saturday Night’s Main Event before WM3, so that analogy doesn’t work. Andre eliminated Hogan & it was meant to make you doubt Hogan’s chances. Worth going back & watching again.

I think anybody hating on Bo Nickal after his performance is sort of ignoring reality to a degree, given he didn't show us his strongest attributes deliberately. That said, Bo himself is ignoring reality because he's sitting there with a cut on his nose and a busted up lip going "I didn't get touched". Who knows if he beats Khamzat or not (I don't think he does given how mediocre his striking looked but maybe his wrestling is really levels above Khamzat's and he can win that way) but he didn't show us anything this weekend that would make us believe he could beat Khamzat so of course DC is gonna say he's not ready.

People criticize Jake Paul because he's a terrible person. He fights old legends that are out of their prime, or he fights people smaller than him, so he can take advantage of them. No one respects someone that cherry picks fights and acts like they're a champion after winning a fight they were set up to win.

Mike Tyson made $ 20 Million - Jake Paul made $ 60 Million . Everybody got paid ( way more than UFC pays ) Everybody is happy > f@ck Haters - Jake Paul can beat any UFC fighter on their roster and he just started Boxing ! . What UFC guy can ever stop him ?

I think we acknowledge how important the Serrano and Taylor fight was and how much of a spectacle it was, but the main event was such a sh*t show that it overshadowed the co main event. Facts. 34:51

The Barrios/Ramos fight was pretty incredible too. I was expecting to turn it on to see Taylor/Serrano but I'm glad that the pacing was off. I quit watching boxing back in 97-98 when boxing started going to shit. It was when it the top guys started not wanting to fight each other.

No issues with saying that people’s expectations of the Tyson fight were overblown. But Ariel never mentions Jake “promoting” the fight by saying that Tyson was going to die in the ring, that he was going to knock out Tyson and during the fight he never pushed for the KO. He coasted/carried Mike. That’s my only issue that is never talked about. I didn’t believe Jake’s talk, but plenty of casual fans did and they tuned in to watch an exciting fight that was not delivered. I know plenty of fighters do this also. Promote violence, like Strickland does. Guess what. Those fighters are also criticized, including by Ariel.
@Grogers704262 күн бұрын
I think Jake knew that if he had KO'D Mike he might not have made it out of the stadium, Mike definitely got more cheers when he made the walk. I'm sure that the boxing world would have turned on him more than he's ever had to deal with. I don't think there were very many ppl watching it and wanting to see Mike laying on his back staring at the ceiling. If there were any of those ppl then they need to have their head examined bc that would be some level of sick and twisted to want to watch a near 60 yr old get a concussion
