@@Silver54ful I know this comment is from 4 years ago, but autotune isnt a bad tune that makes you a bad singer if you use it, Its a tool used to make vocals sit better in a mix, and even AMAZING singers use it for that purpose, it has been used at an extreme level by artists like drake for a stylistic choice, but I dont doubt that autotune or melodyne was used by her too

Tamzahi- With all dure respect. I highly disagree. A true vocalist explores range in both technique and emotion with their own vocal cords. Not a computer program. There is a plethora for stylistic appraches one can do with one's own biology. And the only way one can discover that ability and expand on it is if you proceed without computer doctoring interference. The human vocal cords were performing remarkable feats centuries before computers were invented. But now it seems practically everywhere the embelishments must occur with auto-tune. If not just outright taking over the entire recording. So much has been lost or forgotten because of the desire to modify with computer programming. Thankfully musical theatre and opera however are keeping the spark alive when it comes to vocal skill and hearfelt emotion. Sorry but there never has and never will be a computer modem on earth (no matter how brilliant the programmer) that can outshine the human vocal cords. It's not just about the acrobatics within the composition. It's also about the intelligence and the soul that are conveyed thorough the melodic structure.

@@Silver54ful Of course, I agree, a true vocalist is able to do everything you have said with their own voices. But Autotune is a tool in production, and just as in the past when PA systems and microphones came out, people criticised the use of that too "A true vocalist can sing on top of the orchestra without a Mic or Speakers" - Autotune is a tool, and there will be dozens of newer tools, music is a medium that will continue to evolve with the technology around it, but again right now, it is one of the best tools in production, it can NEVER replace a talented vocalist, but nowadays even musical theatre have live autotune and vocal processing. I feel like we are debating 2 separate points, autotune can and will never replace powerful vocals, I think we both agree there, however to say that AutoTune is a phase is incorrect, objectively Also this singer is INSANELY talented but even her vocals have been processed with compression, EQ, Saturation, Reverb and maybe a subtle use of AutoTune or some other pitch correction software, its just standard really-
