That dirt freedom is just like surfing just riding a long curling wave freedom like no other and the bike has the same flow. The internet is a wondaful bit of gear. Great like always.

I dunno if you got an answer yet on the ABS but it resets to save the average user from themselves. The thought behind this is if you are doing some off road then get back on tarmac you will forget to turn ABS back on. If it resets every time you restart or shut down the person won't find out what happens when you forget its off on some wet tarmac. The 990 has the same setup so I soldered a switch from my handlebar to the rear ABS sensor so I can turn it off which tricks the system into thinking the ABS is broke till I turn the switch back on and reset the bike. Im sure you could make something similar for your bike. Just don't forget to remove it if you ever need warranty work!

We love this raw style of video and the amazing bike! The only downside that we've been able to find with the KTM 1190 Adventure R is that rear tires are expensive to replace ;) Awesome camera work and rider as always, your hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated and doesn't go unnoticed :) Keep it up and *T4S*

Well done, I love the placement of the static cameras and the slow motion in the sand. Looks like you may be having TO much fun!!!!!
@tkrey238 жыл бұрын
If you connect the "bad fuel dongle", it will save your ABS settings when you turn bike off/on. And you don't have to mess with your fuel mappings just because the dongle is connected. One might say the ABS turning back on is a liability feature, so they make you add a device to defeat that.

While your other videos are all fancy, this is the best by far.We've been telling you for years in the comments to hook up a mic and its soooo much better to see and hear you in action than post recorded drawl. I cant believe youve been using offroad mode! Oh well, we all make mistakes.

Bro, I've been tracking you for awhile and you've got the best reviews out there ... by far. Excellent job on this review. Thx for the BT sync to GoPro tip. Very cool. I ride a dialed in 500 EXC with the belief I can use it as an ADV bike if needed, but I can't use an ADV bike like a 500. After watching this vid - especially watching you 'get it' in Sport mode with the extra 50HP - that gap between the two weeks is a lot less than I thought. This 1190 is something special, and its encouraging to know when I make the switch I can still 'get some' on the bike ADV bike. Thanks for the great review!

I had an 1190 R for a while. Never got close to riding it like that, but its good to know that its capable of some awesome feats. Great riding. i can only imagine what level of skill it takes to turn that bike into what i saw on the video! Nice one.

Good call on the bluetooth audio. I had to turn up the tv volume as the level of the audio isn't the same as from the mic on the camera. Still great to have commentary as you ride. Don't forget that the sound of the bikes trumps all. Drone shot at 10:23? More of those would be cool. Thanks for the video.

Your absolutely nailing it with this series! I love hearing your thought process as your moving through terrain. A couple things I'd like to hear/see is some of the techniques you use while riding, and the gear you use for riding and filming. Also would love to see some long cuts of footage in a secondary video or something. Fantastic stuff can't wait for more.

Tell us something here: how tall are you and how much do you weigh? I assume that you dropped the bike a few times (we all do), were you able to pick it up easily? I'm 5'8" 62 kg, and I couldn't ride this bike alone because of the weight, that's a serious limitation. Once I dropped my Triumph 800XC in soft sand, my foot got stuck under the pannier and I would have been really screwed if it had been for two youngsters that eventually showed up on a moped (I was not able to free myself alone). This video is a great advert for KTM, but don't be fooled: if you don't have the physical strength to handle the bike and the riding skills displayed here (professional level), don't go on this kind of trip alone (if at all) with this kind of bike. I have a 690 Enduro R now. Great video!!!

i drive a transalp xl700v atm.. more of a tourer but i will fit propper tires this week and hope it will be a good starter for riding heavy bikes ofroad. i come from a 1991 honda dominator which was alot lighter. im thinking of buying the new africa twin or the 1190 in two year. until then we will all know which bike is the better commuter and has the best lifespan. (i guess the honda but you can never know) really awesome videos. love this bike.
