Aries is right- guys like Jordan, Kobe- and I'll add Bird and Magic to the list- were all around complete legends. The TOTALITY of their careers defines this. The OG's earned it the hard way in the toughest time in the NBA. Bird, Magic, Jordan, Kobe- these dudes straight up instilled FEAR in their peers. And they didn't team hop chasing rings. Case closed in my book- Lebron isn't better than any of them. Great, yes- but not in their league- because their league/era was the toughest ever, and they changed the game and were truly great in ways that will be talked about forever.

@@Zarkarian64 Agreed, his point at the beginning was that of course Lebron can beat some records. Not because he's the best, but because of the quantity of playtime he has accrued. Certainly longevity is admirable, but it's understood that the longer people play, the better chance anybody has of eventually achieving some records. That's not a strong testament to Lebron, when many of those records were previously held by people with a fraction of the time in the NBA.

Leastern Conference was an actual thing. When Bron formed the HEATLES, he weakened both Toronto and Cleveland, making the Eastern Conference even weaker than it was. I rooted for Bron when he was in CLE that first go round because I respected that he was homegrown in his home State. I believed he was going to get over that hump win, but when he went to MIA and also got Bosh, and all those vets on minimum contracts... that right there I lost respect for him. Superteams don't earn my respect. But the Leastern conference is a valid point. Just look up the eastern squads during Lebron's watch. I laugh when people bring up Scottie and Rodman...yet Rodman wasn't PRIME Rodman. MJ played against Prime Rodman. Ha Ha. And Pippen was a 7 pt scorer when he jined the Bulls coming off the bench. If Bron had Pippen he would have traded his ass. BI was a better player than Pippen when Lebron joined the Lakers, and you saw what the Lakers did the following year. So who really thinks Bron would have ever given Pippen a chance to grow for 3 years under him, like MJ did?

I got Lebron at number 6 all time I can’t put him over killers, When MJ lost to the Celtics and Pistons and Lakers his game was never depleted meaning his numbers never went down, But when Lebron lost in the finals his percentage went down. In Wilts and Bills era there was more than two black guys playing so Spears Miss on that but everything else was right and yes Lebron did play in the weak east that matters. MJ is my guy but so is Kobe I can’t put Lebron over Magic because the Lakers didn’t win until he got there. Larry Bird was to cold and had he not hurt his back who knows how much better he would have become that’s scary. Look Bron is great but no Goat.

The east was weak during LeBron's 8 finals run. There wasn't 1 other eastern team that could have competed for a championship. The pistons run was over. I'm a Celtics fan and when they put the big 3 together I said we could win 1, maybe 2 championship the most. Because I wasn't blinded by the fact they put aging star players together and every season they were only gonna get older. When we lost to the Lakers in 2010 I said that's the end of those Celtics chances of winning a chip..And let's not forget it was LeBron in 2006 that called up Melo and wade and told them sign short term 2nd contracts so they'd all be free agents together in summer of 2010. Melo choose to sign long term which is why Bosh got the nod. So LeBron has always been planning to team up with star players and the media stays quiet on that fact

First off there is no “they always make the Lebron Jordan comparison”. Lebron made that comparison after the 2016 final when he won a ring in Cleveland. Lebron said “winning a ring for Cleveland made him the Greatest Of All Time” then the media pick up the conversation and never let it go. Lebron does not have the killer junkyard dawg, win at all cost competitive mentality/personality that Jordan had since childhood. Kobe, Shaq said bombed out his first two years in the league, after that he hit the gym (to turn himself into Jordan) and created the Mamba persona. Tracy McGrady said Kobe watched every Jordan tape he could find trying to emulate MJ and Jordan himself said Kobe stole all his moves. In my opinion Kobe imitated Jordan’s mannerisms too. Kobe wanted Jordan’s global status but he lacked the impact. Magic and Bird saved the NBA. Jordan took the NBA to global status. Iverson changed the culture of the league (dress, hair, tattoos) Curry has changed how the game is played. What has Lebron or Kobe done for the game/NBA? Let’s compare Jordan, Kobe and Lebron’s childhood Jordan had two older brothers with whom he had to compete to hold his own. Kobe had no brothers and Lebron was an only child. In my opinion Jordan as the youngest son developed his competitive streak by having to compete with his brothers for everything daily. As for Kobe and Lebron they didn’t really compete as hard.
