Na i think its due to the publicity surrounding Kodak. Kodak has been accused/convicted of s*xual assault. The whole album is about is about making past mistakes, being able to learn from said mistakes and growing/healing from the past trauma those mistakes have caused. Because of the message of the album, Kendrick also raps against cancel culture as cancel culture looks to ostracise people due to their past wrongdoings. Kendrick put Kodak on his album to almost “stand beside” a young man who has made mistakes despite calls to cancel him. Maybe Kendrick believes he can turn his life around and he backs him to do so. Kodak more or less personifies the meaning behind the album. Kendrick also tweeted out Tentacions album in the past, another rapper accused of assault.
