Those of us who grew up staying up late to sneak watch early Def Comedy Jam recognize Aries Spears talent. He was a prodigy. A 15 year old on a show with a lot of comedy Gods holding his own. I agree 💯 Aries came up in an era where people weren’t as sensitive. I mean go back & check out the old Def Comedy Jam tapes.. Comedians were telling jokes about the Rodney King situation, the R.Kelly situations, the Michael Jackson situations, ETC! I mean they basically said WHATEVER & the audience would laugh uncontrollably no matter how dark or demeaning the comedy was. If Aries is hanging around a bunch of dudes (some who may have been comedians themselves) and he's running material trying to be funny, some of that material could go into the wrong ears. A few weeks later that comedian who heard Aries' joke could be coming up with matetial, then something flicks on in his head like a light switch and he comes up with a similar joke not knowing that it was subconsciously inspired by what he heard Aries say. Aries hears his joke and says to himself "This dude stole my joke!" And that's how those types of beef get started between comedians!
