I feel like it can be so many things. They want it, but they don’t feel like they deserve it so they sabotage it. They only want a piece of the person, but they aren’t courageous enough to admit it. They don’t know what they want, so they are all in their heads; in one day, out the next. Who knows. One thing I’m learning is that it doesn’t matter. I think that we are here to serve one another, and not in the ways we always think or imagine. Their ego self may want to be taken back and may want to keep getting chances, but their higher self may need and want the lesson of boundaries by another person, so they can grow and learn to not abuse their power, and we serve them by being firm. We unconditionally love others by allowing them to grow in whatever way that means, and it doesn't have to be mean or nasty, but firm.

Everytime you excuse repetitive "mistakes" that person you excuse loses a little bit of respect for you. I think you've got to be careful. A mistake happening over and over again becomes a learned behavior. Not saying you shouldn't forgive, but there needs to be clear communication so that behavior stops. Sometimes you just have to give up on them if you've made it clear but they just keep doing it because they expect you'll excuse them and keep them around.
