Having been a car salesperson for the last 4 years, I can honestly say that this is a good method of contact. You're pretty much getting our "Needs Assessment" part of the job out of the way before hand so that we get the next step easily. Bravo! In a car deal, both parties working smarter, not harder, is ideal.

Instead of saying "Can you beat this deal aggressively?", rephrase it the Voss way, "Are you against beating this deal aggressively?". The "No" oriented question worked wonders with the counter offers on the car deal that I just negotiated for my friend.

I utilized this process for a new custom build. I only used the pricing portion. I did not share price I was willing to pay only asking them to make offer and then I countered with the number range I was expecting. Finally found a dealer to meet my expectations and this was for a luxury vehicle where I beat the true car price. Just had to wait on build and shipment from factory.

I have been binge watching your videos. This one was spot on for timing. I'm in the process of finding a 2020 Ram Limited and I'm seeing prices all over; as much as 15k difference. I just drafted my email back to the dealer that has the one I want but is on the higher side of pricing. With the tools from your videos and what you're teaching, I feel a sent a well written and well informed email. It helps that I'm not in a hurry to buy, but I can pull the trigger any day. One thing I didn't think of before watching the videos was being more aggressive with my trade in. After getting some quotes from Carvanna and CarMax, I found I had way more equity than I thought. I almost let 3k slip though my fingers.

Ari, I have a few questions: 1. Should I include my employment status? What I do for a living, how long I've been working there, my average salary? I'm sure that would be helpful in securing a loan 2. Also, should I include every vehicle I'm looking at? My wife and I prefer getting the limited venza at dealership A for example, but we're also interested in their xse v6 camry at that same dealership. Would huge differences in car and car prices negatively affect our ability to negotiate? I'm not sure if the dealership will take me as serious if I'm flexible in shopping between an SUV and a car.: different vehicles types, different models, different dealership, different prices.

This really seems like a great idea to get the Best price if you already know what vehicle you want to purchase. I am going to try this when I purchase my new Tacoma. Going looking at the only local Toyota dealership before I found your videos about a month ago I totally struck out. They played all the games they could with me. Tried to get full invoice on last year's model,2019. Had nitrogen tires and several options added just to build the price no one wants. Tried to make up a story about my trades automatic transmission grinding and low ball that. Tried to keep me there and wear me down by saying how bad my trade was, Trying to convince me how much better a new truck would be to drive off in and they couldn't find the keys when I said I was finished talking to them and ready to go cause I didn't want financially rapped... I'm definitely using this email technic hopefully to cut all the crap out and going to a nearby metro area with 3 Toyota dealerships to shop. I have 800+ credit and will have 20% down payment so I should not have issues like before.

Some wanted me to go in to negotiate. STAY OUT OF DEALERSHIP until you sign. You’ll be swayed w all the lights and shiny cars. I test drive and went there AFTER I signed. I got about 8% off MSRP. I like the emailing portion and all. But I’m not in favor of discussing financing and trade in until the price is settled. That’s an area where they cause confusion to THEIR advantage. Not yours.

Letting the dealer know you are willing to shop elsewhere, either a competing dealer of the same make, model, and trim level that is 40 miles away or that you are also looking at a brand competitor that you may end up purchasing instead if a good deal can’t be made. So, if at a Ford dealer, letting them know you are also looking at Dodge and Ram and the final decision will be made on who can work the best deal for YOU

While I agree this advice can facilitate a smoother car buying process, it also is much more helpful for a dealer. A consumer giving up this much information is only providing a dealer with ammunition to craft a deal which extracts the maximum dollar figure from the customer. Let's call it like it is - dealers have a well-earned reputation for screwing customers. It's almost a certainty that if you provide a dealer with this much information they are going to do everything in their power to screw you out of as much money as possible. The sales people are not your friends. Their income and well being is directly related to how much profit they can generate on a given car deal. It really is that simple. In that regard, I disagree with the premise of this video - "How to Email a Car Dealer" - if you are buying a car.

I feel like this is putting too many cards on the table, I agree with sending an email, however I am not sure about telling them a trade ahead of time, I always believe in getting the best price I can for the vehicle then throwing a wrench “by the way I am trading in this car” and I have already gotten quotes I would like to see what you can offer me for it, that way your purchase and trade in are essentially 2 different negotiations instead of the dealer not giving you the best price on either one!
@dimitron84384 жыл бұрын
Or pre negotiating a price over email online and the going in looking at a different car and having them write you the best quote on your trade in as you bring up the email on the actual car you are looking to purchase that way you are guaranteed best price on trade in and best price on the quote you already got. Because what are they gonna say we can’t give you the prices we already quoted you because you didn’t mention a trade in or we thought you were gonna look at another car not the one we already quoted you.... will be hard for them to back pedal.
