HOW is a clearly injured Dina, who struggles through her routines clearly not fully recovered and likely to get worse if they continue to push her, scoring higher than Ariana? Alina is able to execute her programs better and her body difficulty and apparatus handling for the most part is superior to Dina, at least in the last few competitions, and her musicality is also better.I like Dina, I do, and a healthy Dina can mop the floor with the co,petition on the difficulty scale, but It is a disservice to both sisters to consistently reward one over the other even when the other sister performed better. Are they doing it thinking it will keep Dina’s morale up and will her to victory? And if so, why at the expense of her twin sister? Reward one over the other, earned or not, only shows Ariana that she isn’t good enough even when she is healthier and make her second guess herself, or feel like it doesn’t matter how food she is, she still isn’t Dina, and Dina is who they want as their champion even if Ariana performs better. I do not understand the scores at this event and nationals, but honestly what ho-e is there for fair judging even at the Olympics. Let Dina recover from her injury and get stronger and back to form rather than prolonging or exacerbating the injury by putting too much load on her body, and build Ariana’s confidence and performance quality and difficulty up and judge her fairly so that when the Olympics come around, both girls go in physically and mentally intact and ready to battle it out, with equal opportunity to win, where the one who rises to the occasion and performs better in the final wins the gold, rather than elevating one over the other at the expense of the other. I feel bad for Dina, as she is clearly still struggling with injury, but I also feel bad for Ariana, who bested her sisters, reminding her that she isn’t Arian Averina, but Dina Averina’s sister. Russian judges in Rhythmic gymnastics and figure skating are out of their minds!
