If when you stop smoking you believe that you are denying yourself a genuine pleasure in life then you will ALWAYS struggle with temptation. Think about it: If you enjoy drinking alcohol and are told that you have to stop you will feel that you are DEPRIVING yourself of a pleasure in life and will fell miserable. However, If you CHOOSE to stop drinking because you believe that drinking is the cause of all of your problems in life then stopping doing so will be like riding yourself of a horrible parasite. You will enjoy the process, even the withdrawal afterwards as you will recognise this as the 'death-throws' of your enemy. (BTW, I drink, incase anyone's wondering) I was a smoker for 8 years. Stopped cold turkey like Aris but it was after reading a book by Allen Carr. The book is all bout understanding the psychology of a smoker and logically undoing all of the 'reasons' that each individual has for smoking; you slowly unravel the mental associations that you've built up over time. Aris if you want to stop "thinking about smoking all the time" then I recommend you check out 'Allen Carr-- Only way to stop smoking permanently' I know you are not a big fan of reading so you should listen to his audio book. You will find it REALLY interesting.

I recently just quit smoking tobacco. I started smoking when I was 15 and now I'm 21. Went thru my quitting phases and did my fair share of coughing up black mucus. Eventually I was outside smoking my black and mild and it was hurting my chest I just sat there like "why am I doing this?" So I quit cold turkey man. The hardest part so far was the sweats for the first week I did nothing but fucking sweat. I would have to take showers and change my shirt a shit ton of time a day. I feel better for it now it's been almost a month. I'm never gonna smoke that shit again. But hit me up if you got loud I still smoke that.

I started smoking just a month ago and quit just a week ago. Now if your gonna smoke, i advise to you is moderate how many you smoke because the more you smoke the longer you'll smoke, and also about menthol flavored ones, they are more addictive than the full flavored ones. Started only 1 to 2 then after just 2 weeks starting smoking a pack.. after 2 packs of marlboro black and winston red i stopped.

Cold turkey quitting cigarettes is the best imo. If you can go 72 hours without nicotine, it get's insanely much easier to stay away afterwards, since after 72h all the nicotine is out of your body.

Thanks for this... 28 years old and smoking for 10 years. (I can't believe you are only 2 years older than me) I have half-assed-ly tried quitting a few times, but I would cheat and have 1 or 2 a day, and then over a few weeks it would climb back up to a half a pack a day. I have a vape but it doesn't leave my room, and I'm skinny so I'm not really concerned with gaining weight. I'm going for it again soon... maybe I'll get some coconut water this time.......
@Shiftaws8 жыл бұрын
Good luck man I'm in exactly the same boat. A friend of mine who quit after 15 years told me some good stuff. If you end up breaking after a month and smoke a few don't act like it was all for nothing and go back to a pack a day or whatever. If you keep trying to quit your body will slowly get used to having lower levels of nicotine and it will get easier every time.

honestly, i could never understand what it is with smoking. not even considering the health risks. it just tastes horrible, and i personally get nauseous to the point of having to puke if i smoke too much tobacco. willingly getting over this just to make it a habit, just seems weird to me.
@umwhoalol8 жыл бұрын
+gucci eyelids its a slight buzz from the smoke that slightly kills your motor skills for like 2 minutes, then makes you a bit calmer- as in less responsiveness to aggravation, but as for the addictiveness its literally the same as eating when you aren't hungry, you don't need the smoke, but you say fuck it when you're tolerance is low because its late in the day etc., its not any actual feeling, its just the exact same thing as wanting to eat when you aren't hungry.
@jaygryska3176 жыл бұрын
Beary FUCKING Nice nicotine is a fuckin stimulant, not a depressant. It doesn’t “turn into an opiate”, it just has addictive qualities like you mentioned. Xans (benzos), opiates, and alcohol are depressants. Nicotine and caffeine are stimulants. Yes, it calms you down, but that doesn’t mean it’s a depressant.

socialized, most people don't know why they even smoked. it used to be that only rich could afford smoking, also using it to distance themselves from plebs. as health risks became aware and it got cheaper it shifted towards poor people and the general masses. they just do it for the sake of doing it, its part of their habit, of their identity. and yes its stupid, but that's our society. its also coupled to values. I remember seeing a documentary about the tobacco industry where they started that ad with malboro about a cowboy and freedom. sales went up by a ton. because people couple the cigarettes to that emotion of freedom. If you go to tobacco websites you will mostly see important figures of world history who have smoked, to make it seem classy and suggesting that if you smoke, you are one bit closer to being like them. its just as stupid as it sounds.

+wikygaming The only way to quit smoking is just quit it like you never ever smoked before I quite smoking in an instance I said to my self that I am going to stop smoking and by saying that to my self I quit smoking ( to be honest I was sick too and not feeling not well for along time and still my throat is fkd up because of too much smoking) I still smoke occasionally though. I used to smoke like 1.5 to 2 pack a day for 4 year or may be a bit more. So everyone can quit smoking only if you don't make it a big fkin deal.

darksouls97 this, the thing is, I had an anger problem before smoking, I know that, and it calmed down with smoking a little bit, then I incorporated weed, and it further calmed me down, I actually wanna quit both, but my point is, if you have an anger problem, maybe it's a spiritual one, a problem inside of yourself that you need to find out how to take care of, and trust me man, these death sticks will take care of it, and they'll kill you fast too, so the choice is yours
