Nobody is sabotaging the Dangote refinery; the problems are fundamental. For refineries to work, there must be institutional reforms.

IMF and WORLD BANK ONLY JOB is to ensure countries with potentials is economically destabilized so they never grow. No country has ever implemented IMF policy and did NOT throw their people into Abject poverty and then political submission of their leaders to the USA GOVERNMENT and loss of their national assets to USA elitist corporation . That's the goal of this Neo colonial organization. The maximum interest rate ever implemented in the west are all below 10%

Two things Nigeria govt cannot fix : 1. Power 2. Refineries. If they fix these two things common na, how are they going to 1. Luth money 2. Weaponize poverty ( which is essential to there old of power) Because 1. Exchange rate will normalize 2. There will be economic drive and employment especially through private sectors Who will have time to collect 2k to vote for them? When you have more than enough??

Nobody is sabotaging Dangote. Oil is traded by forwards, sometimes by years. No company is going to wait for Dangote when completion was uncertain. IOCs are multinational companies with their refineries. They took their share per agreement with Nigeria (product sharing) to meet their obligations. Dangoʻte should have anticipated these and planned for it.

True. But what about the supposed dedicated daily crude oil barrels for local refineries. Simply put! NNPC is unreasonably corrupt. Patrotism teaches us to love the inside more than the outside. Nigeria politicians and leaders are simply not patriotic. How do you explain NNPC owning 20 percent share in Dangote refinery , yet Dangote unable to get regular feedstock from NNPC.

I just think that there are forces that don't want Nigeria to develop. First I don't see any reason why people will attack farmers, when you know that you need food to survive even the Ukraine and Russia war don't have these food crisis, so that insecurities to farmers is a deliberate act to keep the country on its knees, and as for power, Nigeria should be the only country in Africa that has that problem,which means it can be resolved easily if other small country can do it, again another deliberate act, the oil sector is what Dr obiaraeri has been talking about to fire all the people that has been responsible for the stand still oil production in our refineries and tackle the theft but again the government is looking the other way, another deliberate act. Nigeria is deliberately plunged into these economic crisis because they know the potential that is in that country, but this won't last forever. Same thing they have been doing in entertainment industry but we finally break ou. One day, just one day they will submit.

It is very clear that after iNigerian independence and the Civil War that followed, Nigerian Economy and the political system was hijacked by international cartels and their hand-picked Nigerian trained supporters and foot soldiers. These powerful cartels have been dispensing their corrupt loots among their supporters both in politics and the economy. The effect of these actions is that they have prevented the smartest and patriotic Nigerians from contributing and participating in the economy and politics of that country, thereby stifling the progress of one of the most dynamic people in the world with vast natural resources. Nigerians have to wake up and take over and restructure their country. Nigeria can not continue and survive with these problems.

To the VP, I say talk is cheap. Walk your talk. This will convince us that you mean what you are saying. No locally produced vehicle in the presidential fleet. Not even one even if for the optics. National legislators drive Toyota branded SUVs. The newly minted residence of the VP, I am sure, is doned with ineterior decorations from Turkey. The FCT minister wears a foreign branded Versace coat costing over $1,000. They use our annual budgets to fund foreign economies, creating jobs over there to the detriment of our local economy. Sensible government use government spending to stimulate and drive the local economy.

Drop interest rates to 9% or less. No country that wants to grow increase their interest rates to 26%. For example. Japan 1% China 2.5% South Korea 3.5% EU 3.75% US 5.5% Nigeria 26%. Reduce interest rates so that businesses can generate jobs and income. How can anyone collect loans when there is probably no business you could do to generate a profit of 30%. You are stifling the country’s growth.
@kene6753
@kene6753 2 күн бұрын
Your analysis is one-sided. All the industrialised countries you listed with very low lending rates are all major producers of factory goods + services. A low lending rate favours production firms (goods & services). What exactly do you produce in Nigeria to deserve a 9% lending rate? A 9% interest rate in Nigeria would mean a significantly increased M2, which would only drive up the already high inflation.
