Afenifere is to promote the interest of the Yoruba people and not support the interest of another tribes. Any faction of Afenifere that is not supporting the interests of the Yorubas is null and void. There is no way the Yorubas will put the interest of other tribes above theirs. @Try to understand my point. Afenifere is not a political party. It is a social-cultural group of the Yoruba race just like Ohaneze Ndigbo and Arewa groups of my brothers from the east and north respectively. These groups are formed to promote the interests of their people. I’m not saying that Afenifere should field a Yoruba man as candidate for president. Not at all. But whoever is ready to protect the interest of the Yoruba people will be supported by Afenifere.

Chief Adebanjo's faction of Afenifere is a political liability. The Chief himself has never contested for any election, not even when almost everybody in Yoruba land belonged to Action Group. One thing is sure: all that the man is doing is borne out of his rabid hatred for President Bola Tinubu. But should the Chief not be tired by now? I shudder when I listen to leading voices who fail to see a little into the future and sound a little naive, when they tell their truth. (Re refutal of socio-cultural status of Afenifere ). Truth is never absolute, so "good men" must use it to shape and direct/drive consciousness in the land. The vitriol in the political marketplace is increasingly begging to be factored into ones considerations, even as one is campaigning for equity and justice. At gun point, if I also have a gun and good at using it, "thou shall not kill " may not make a justice sense nor equity in right to living considerations. It will be injurious to Yoruba unity and bad for Chief Ayo Adebanjo's reputation if he steers Afenifere toward joining an opposition party against Tinubu. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chief Obasanjo respectively may have done a lot in the past to divide and destroy Afenifere and AD in their quests to become Presidents of Nigeria.
