Let there be justice and benefits for the Ogoni people that will restore and sustain peace, not just playing around to grab the oil and gas.

The president has said a good statement. There is no going back to the back to open the wounds but way forward to make sure the community and environment are rewarded and the oil production commences with sincerity now

There is no amount of cover-up that will help in the situation. This must be resolved squarely; the rt thing must be done first. Cashtivists are out to swell their pockets. Meanwhile, no good roads, no infrastructures to show. I bet you, Taiwo, the Yorubas will not accept it on their land. It's high time to stop this nonsense. Please take a ride from Warri enroute east west road to ogoni and see how dilapidated the infrastructures are. It's a shame!!

This man definitely not fit to be representing Ogoni people who has suffered unbearable economic damages and suffering of all kinds. He is been bribe and has gotten his share of blood money and he is not hesitating to betray his own people.

Senator Mpigi should advocate for the demands of the Ogoni Bill of Rights. Prominent among the Ogoni demand is a state or political autonomy in Nigeria like the current 36 states most of which Ogoni oil was used to create them. He doesn't seem to think big for Ogoni yet he's Ogoni. He could be one of those who believe Ogoni isn't qualify for a state like he said it wasn't Ogoni turn for Rivers State governor. Meaning it's Ogoni turn, the politicians of course, to continue carrying bags for others even though Ogonis fought with few others for the creation of the state in 1967. He appears insensitive to the issues of the Ogoni people especially their right to development and the traumatic experiences caused by the state-sponsored murder of the Ogoni 4 and hanging of the Ogoni 9. While Senator Mpigi wants oil production to resume immediately thus worried that other oil regions in the country or state are developing while Ogoni isn't, he forgot or didn't understand that most states in Nigeria benefit from sharing oil money on a monthly basis and have no oil nor do they have any organized alternative economic or income sources by which they contribute to the same coffers they share from. And most of these non-oil states which are dependent on oil money without which they may not survive for 12 months thus a recipe for laziness, corruption and development failures commonplace in the country. and current hardship and hunger, have solid minerals yet may not be reporting the proceeds. In his wisdom Ogoni should continue to produce oil for the rest of the country, develop their states and help them create wealth but she isn't good enough for a state to directly benefit 13 percent derivation funds, control its political, economic, and sociocultural affairs like the 36 states of the country. This is too poor of him and very unfortunate.
