This is amazing. Does anyone have suggestions for other sources of information online about the dance music business world? It seems like so much of the discussion online is around more traditional genres and the same rules don’t apply here

this is very true, I am aiming to launch my label in the next 5 months and almost all the resources I have learned from, are based around a traditional label structure. If you found anything let me know man :)

This is very interesting as from an artist standpoint having been through a few different genres over the years, of course labels can become you with certain audiences and also it can spill through to promotion depending on how and what youre promoting at the time. Artists need not shy away from sharing their genres and also not feel they'd be overlooked because of this. It is all about how the artist pitches their proposal, showing their diverse archive but not focusing on the styles that are not relevant to the label right. Yup, am totally on par with the marketing. You could see it coming years ago and kudos to those labels like yourselves who have gone the extra mile to keep diversity in how the merch/ music is applicated and reached/absorbed/bought. It is of course a must to get anywhere in the evolving industry.
