Unfortunately it's not free, but paid by our data. Hope to live in a world where information accessibility isn't dependent on huge technological monopolies. Nevertheless props to the author.

Thank you so much. I’m currently reading the book “The philosophy of Aristotle” by Suzanne Bobzien. I recently started reading more about the human mind and how it works as well as the purpose of it. I became interested in reading the philosophies for some odd reason. But, for this book my mind was puzzled and I couldn’t comprehend what he was trying to say. I also enjoy reading books about self motivation as a hobby. If you have any suggestions for what I should read in order to understand the human mind

Read about psychology and sociology. If you're in school right now, your school's database will have access to endless professional journals on those subjects. If not, you can occasionally find free articles on google scholar.

Which are the philosophers are not studied but really should be studied in Colleges in your opinion? In each of the three periods: ancient, modern and middle.

I know its been a while since this video was recorded but can the relationships be considered as substance? And if yes do they really have all these causes and what would the final cause
@ahmadtajy71782 жыл бұрын
Didn't quite understand what substance is but the rest I understood well enough. Thank you :)
@martydanilovski47532 жыл бұрын
substance is the core cause that makes "that" thing "that" thing. For example what makes the human being a human being? the substance of a human being. It is the latin word for "essence"

@@martydanilovski4753 isn't that the *form* of a thing?
@martydanilovski47532 жыл бұрын
@@ahmadtajy7178 in plato's philosophy yes, but in aristotle's for a thing to be existing it has to be built up by the form and matter. In categories he says that the substance is both form and matter, but in his metaphysics he says only the form is the main cause for things to be the way they are. I think the difference is that in categories he is talking about a specific object, while in metaphysics he is searching for a more universal truth about objects and reaches the conclusion that the form is the most important for object to be what they are. Or at least that's how i understand it, i just finished my first year in university studying philosophy

@@martydanilovski4753 I recently read what W. T. Stace wrote about it, and as I understand it now, according to Aristotle, substance is a compound of form and matter since neither form nor matter can exist without the other, though they are nonetheless real.
@ahmadtajy71782 жыл бұрын
@@martydanilovski4753 what makes a human being a human being as opposed to any other matter (or formless matter) according to Aristotle seems to be the form of a human being. Since form contains all the attributes and traits of a human being and without it the human is just matter
