On the list it goes! I don't like to buy scales that are close/overlapping to stuff I already have (because the drums are expensive) but unique ones like this and the F Astronaut are awesome.

The richest drummer of the planet with the complete serie of rav...it's amazing❤

He does work with Rav on a lot of content, so I wouldn't assume he's bought them all at new retail price. You can buy them used as well from time to time. Also if you save a little each month, over time you'll be able to afford one - and if you do that for a bunch of years you'll look up one day and have a shelf of them :)

Maybe it's because of the different key, but the Vast Ariumi somehow doesn't grab me the same way as the Moon Ariumi. It's still a chill sound, though. Thanks for giving this scale a hearty demo!

Interestingly I'm the reverse. I haven't played a moon in person but recordings of it, or even the virtual player come across as muddy to me. In that because of the extra sustain and harmonics if you play more rapidly and percussive like I do (versus slow as some folks do) it almost because too much sound.
@oheysk5 ай бұрын
@@Daphoid I can absolutely see where a Moon might not suit a rapid style. Sometimes you can kinda make it work if you're playing on just a few notes at a time or on parts of a single chord, but the harmonics and sustain can get tangled with each other if you like your songs to dance around the pan. There is also a LOT of bloom.
@Daphoid5 ай бұрын
@@oheysk Oh for sure. The Moon's have a very pretty sound, love the harmonics - I can just tell right away that they're more affordable, great for mediation / yoga studios and that kind of thing. Plus I find people that are a little more timid with their playing as they learn won't play as fast because they're unsure of their rhythm. I'm a drummer / electronic musician primary, rav's and things are just an extension to "I like percussion" things - as such I'm very biased towards fast percussive playing :)
