Hopefully what's up with Trier turns out to be nothing or at least minimal. So many things have gone wrong, losing to Oregon in PAC 12 championship, first round exit, Justin Simon transfers, losing Terrance Fergurson, and now the rumors ... hopefully it all goes well.

Tony Rojas Next year should b huge

Julio Vasquez this year should be huge if Trier is not suspended. Even without Terrance Fergurson. Dusan Ristic, Chance Comanche, and Parker Jackson Cartwright look like they will step up their game by leaps and bounds. Allonzo Trier will have a monster sophomore season and be a way better player than last year. I'm expecting that our three true freshmen, lead by Lauri Markkanen, will make huge splashes. I wouldn't be surprised if Kobi Simmons wins the starting job at point. Rawle Alkins will be a scoring machine that will start at the 3 or be the first off the bench. Ray Smith, redshirt freshman, is a huge x-factor, if he can stay healthy and play the way he is capable we will be a very hard team to beat. Keanu Pinder will bring defensive energy like Eugene Edgerson or Jesse Perry in the past. And obviously don't sneeze on Kadeem Allen. He will definitely help us a lot on defense and scoring. The reason some fans are sketchy about this season is because we lost so much from last year and we have a ton of unknowns this year. Will Trier actually play this season? Will Ray Smith be fully healthy? Who will be our point guard? Is Markannen going to be as good as analysts say he will be? How good will our other two freshman be? Have our other players improve in the off season? Last year we had a lot of optimism and it sucked things didn't go well. So this year it's easy to be just cautiously optimistic. We also have to wait and see who stays and who goes next off season. Recruiting-wise I hope Lonnie Walker and Brandon McCoy pick us. That would make six recruits, three 4 star recruits and three 5 star recruits. However, even if neither choose us we still have a great class coming in. Three spots are expected to be open. So we would have to lose one more player, or three if we do get two more recruits. We have one opening right now. Allen will graduate so that's goodbye to him (😢). I expect Trier to declare. And most likely scenario is that Markannen will also declare. At least one of our other two freshmen might declare as well. If Talbot Denny doesn't get a chance to play next season that'll leave another opening and we may not have to lose Smith, Simmons, or Alkins. Unless we get Walker as expected and hopefully McCoy. If I were Denny, a major Wildcat fan like myself, I would sacrifice my spot for a way better player. Even though I may do that, that's just a joke. He would be in his right to pursue a medical sixth year and should. Sucked he got injured playing a simple game of pickup ball. Hopefully everyone has improved and our freshmen are ready to play. As long as we have Miller I don't think it'll be a terrible season.
