Arizona Cardinals Will Be a Run-First Team in 2024

Arizona Cardinals were very competitive for a large portion of the 2023 NFL season regardless of the players on the field at any given time. Without Kyler Murray for a large portion of the season, Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing ran an offense that was boring, long-winded, and effective. The Cardinals had a well-below average roster on both sides of the ball in 2023. The Cardinals offense kept them relevant. Sure, they only won 4 games but were in 80% of the games down the stretch. Why? They ran the ball effectively. When Kyler Murray came back, they were at the top of the NFL in rushing yards per game and showed the proof of concept necessary to roll into 2024 when they had a healthy and talent-infused roster. Now, with Kyler Murray fully healthy, James Conner elongating his prime as an NFL RB, Trey Benson drafted out of Florida State, and Marvin Harrison Jr and Trey McBride handling the pass-catching room, the Arizona Cardinals are ready to hit the 2024 season by storm. All that being said, they’re still going to be a run first team. Also, respect must be put on the names of both James Conner and Budda Baker. People who think that they both may not be Arizona Cardinals after 2024 are not seeing the big picture. Let’s discuss.

We have one hold over starter on the O line from the previous regime. All the new faces have been selected because they have the capability of running the blocking schemes that Monti envisions. We have the best TE room in Cardinals history. Drew's play calling was very unpredictable. I can stand Kyler running an option. But I never want to see designed runs. I see our offense taking a large step forward this year. We're going to surprise a lot of teams, if we can get after the passer this year. Go Cards ! !

If your talking history of TE rooms for cards Jackie Robinson yrs or the late 80’s were better also

@@hammerdon1962 not taking away from McBride last yr but his numbers got blown up due to him being the only target they looked at 108 targets with 81 completions .. no chance in hell he will get that many looks with Harrison and they want to be so run first.. I think will not be true when playing from behind probably a ton with a bad defense.. and they drafted a blocking TE and Higgins from last yr low attempts.. so was wondering why you think it’s the best in history is my question

Another question if you think Drew’s play calling was unpredictable.. why in second half’s there was little adjustments and scoring dropped off .. especially vs good and better defenses.. multiple games only 6 points or zero points scored in second half’s.. my opinion is the numbers on this team being run happy had a lot to do with Dobbs and Murray yards rushing.. yes Conner broke 1000 for first time in career missing 4 games is good.. I just think this O needs not to just rely on swing passing and out routes and dump offs.. need some deep attempts that are completed.. Murray hasn’t been good on those since mid 2021… he chucks it up like the Moore TD and McBride under throw vs ATl.. cause we know the middle of the field is not used
