That press conference was… weird. It almost seemed like Brent was the AD or GM and Seth was the new head coach. It wouldn’t surprise me if he gets promoted before the next season ends. With that, the expectations for the team were way too high this season. I can’t believe people thought they would be as good if not better than the 2023 team. The 2024 team on paper was clearly worse. Too much talent left for other schools or the NFL. Then naming Babers as OC should’ve been the writing on the wall for fans, especially those who watch a lot of CFB. It was never going to work out. Then when it comes to transfers, can we really put all the blame on Brent? This is the reality of college sports now. Honestly it would’ve been better if all these guys transferred last year but they had a connection with Fifita and TMac. In this day and age you should always expect to lose players who don’t play, have NFL talent and NIL value, or have only one year of eligibility left.

I think he knew beforehand and did not want to admit it publicly. If he did during his press conference, he would have to admit he FAILED and face the music aka questioning during his press conference. He chose to lie about it. He felt that was the best way to handle the matter.
