Shout out to Bernardo. He got out of the army after one tour and went back to the recruiter, and went straight back in that takes a large ball sack … shout out to all my major combat veterans who reenlisted in theater, knowing you’re coming back….

Thank you Arizona! A tough job and well done. The Vietnam Veterans were as potent a fighting force as the USA ever assembled. Why they were treated with disdain, scorn and contempt upon their return is the greatest shame in our entire USA History. I do not have any idea what must have been going through their minds. Shame on them and may they burn and rot in Hell for these most horrendous acts. Today people don't even care-its not as bad-but its still awful. 16 years in Afghanistan-and still no light at the end of the tunnel. I could never blame a soldier-a politician-you bet.

The treatment of our returning troops from Vietnam was the greatest crime committed by our domestic enemies. Also being sent there in the 1st place by our cowardly & corrupt politicians was a close second act of betrayal. There treatment by the media was another act of betrayal. The Vietnam vets as well as any returning vets are true heroes & should be given some form of reparations for their sacrifices and bravery.

Nice to see some ARVN perspectives too. Thousands and thousands lost at sea in tiny boats for years after the war was over. Dreams turned into shark food after all the hell in their homeland.

Also a poor excuse of human being. An Inept, Incompetent Idiot who enjoys badmouthing about our Servicemembers. Luckily, every suffer that an individual has caused to others an to his Country will have to be held accountable and pay for it. Hopefully he'll spend the rest of his miserable days in Prison. You must have missed Kingman, Az. Me and another kid from Kingman ended up in the 9th Infantry Division 2nd Brigade which was the Mobile Riverine Force. Both of us survived but each of us were wounded. A good friend from training, Jerry Hurd from Casa Grande Arizona, was in Charlie Company and tried to break through to relieve my B Company on Valentines Day 1968 and was killed. God Bless him. He is engraved in front of the Capitol Building in Arizona. He will always be engraved on my soul.

When my Uncle George came back on March 1972 when I was just shy of 4 years old at Sky Harbor Airport. I was waiting for him at the terminal along with my parents and family coming home from Vietnam via Fort Campbell Kentucky. I saw him in his awesome looking dress greens as a Paratrooper NCO of the 101st Airborne. I then saw a beer can being thrown at him by some guy who was wearing a buckskin hat and jacket and calling him a "Motherfucker!". I saw my Uncle George run up to him and kick this dude in the nuts and kick and head stomped him bloody until he started crying bad. Uncle George did not stop until the cops grabbed him and took him back to us. That fucking Hippie got arrested. I saw my Uncle George with rage and tears in his eyes that nobody will ever spit on a Paratrooper and will not take shit from any cock sucker. Uncle George was not a man to be fucked with. Arizonan combat veterans are proud and patriotic. Never mess with a rattlesnake, because it can kill you.

I went to army, JNA (Jugoslav folks army), i was 18 years young. It's so wrong to force so young kids to learn killing techniques. When you are so young and unexperienced, you are "tabula rasa", anybody above your rank can make you do anything. I was lucky there was no war. It arived 3 years later. Then i was part of Croatian army. Been lucky, never been in great danger. The worst was hooking on heroin, it destroyed my life. My whole generation was infected, you could not find marihuana, but heroin was cheap and everywhere. I smell a conspiracy

IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT Our Combat training didn't rival that of the Vietnamese. This was not America's first encounter with war. Perhaps it was the topography, perhapes we thought our efforts would make short work of the Vietnamese combat forces. America was only a few years out of Korea, and several more from WW 2. What in the world happened to our fighting skills, leadership, and the tenacity of the American military?

@@adrianmartin5780 no, I'm really not. Do the research. He escalated the war. It's a myth he wasn't invested heavily in stopping communism there. I wish he would've been president when it really got going. I don't think he would put ridiculous restrictions on the military like Johnson and the Joint Chiefs did. You can't half ass wars, believe me I served in two of them in the GWOT.

Gentlemen; To all that Served in the Viet-Nam War... Welcome Home!. I apologize for the way our Country's "Snowflakes and hippies" treated You when You returned. They wanted the Goverment to bring our Servicemembers home just to insult them, mistreat them and humiliate them meaning that our own Citizens turned their back on You guys. Thank You for the sacrifices that You made in order to Serve our Country. Only the ones that were there or have Served would understand. SEMPER FI BROTHERS!.
