I live in Tennessee. My brother lives in Tucson,Az. Every January and February we go there and stay with him. He lives right across the street from the "LOOP" . It's one of the greatest things I have ever seen for walkers and bikes. We don't come close to this in Tennessee. And the weather is great in January and February.

I have been a Snow Bird since I was 27 in 1983. Been coming to Tucson since the first years of the Loop after the big 100 year flood that year. I will be back again in 7 days. I live and work in many other places around the USA in summer. I was working in Zion NP this past June and July. I have only worked summers since 1982. I tour in the fall and spring after I work somewhere else and after I stay in and around Tucson the winters. Look for me this year on a lime green Fat Raliegh Mountain Bike.

The Loop is a wonderful thing pedestrians and cyclists of all ages to enjoy. My family loves visiting and taking advantage of renting bikes over at The Rillito River section and biking all day. Amazing!

Congratulations, Tuscon and its cycling residents. I hope to ride my bicycle on The Loop. Public streets are too dangerous now for cyclists and pedestrians.

I worked and lived in Northern Virginia and Washington DC and thought the bike trails in Northern VA (W&OD, Mt. Vernon) were great. When I retired the two biggest reasons I decided to retire to Tucson was the weather and the bicycle trails. I have been here for a couple of weeks now and The Loop exceeded my expectations. Absolutely beautiful. Maybe someday I will get used to the stunning mountain vistas but right now it is breathtaking.

Great segment on The Loop... congrats to Tucson for completing 131 miles! It's one of the many reasons I choose to vacation in Tucson in the Winter from the East Coast. Thanks to AZ Public Media for posting.

Yes, it's never to late to fall in love with riding again. I got back into it at 41. I will be 51 in a few days. My parents are retired in Tucson. I have come out from VA in Nov for the past few years to ride in the Tour of Tucson. Love it, one of my favorite rides. Two advantages I see the loop gives you is no cars, and it won't beat your bike to death, like a lot of the roads in Tucson tend to do!👍🚴

Great video. I live and ride in Georgetown Texas. They do have bike trails but not very long. Nice and scenic, but not long like Tucson. I have to say, Albuquerque can give Tuscon a little competition, but sad to say, it can get violent. My question to you, does the loop have issues with Goatheads? Great video

We have been snowbirding to Tucson for three years now. The last two years at a RV park with direct access to the loop! During our 2022/23 trip we had new pedal assist ebikes and had a lot of fun traveling this beautiful and well done bike trail. During the two months we were there, riding on average 5 days a week, we saw Gas Powered cycles from small to medium sized, and some in groups, at least a dozen times. We could also see where they had done considerable damage to the sometimes beautifully landscaped areas along the trail, like huge donuts in the sand that do not go away. The loop is wide and very well done, too bad they are not enforcing something as obvious, noisy, and damaging as these gas powered cycles. Most of our encounters were on an offshoot of the loop from north of Ajo Way to Valencia.

That’s so cool, I hope to climb mount lemmon one day. Here in San Antonio we have something similar but they are called the greenway trails, currently around 80 miles but they continue to expand the system. They follow the forests and parks that surround the local creeks and rivers

really well put together, great advert for the 'loop', its def some creamy wide asphalt with some curves, a few fun bomber underpasses, an incredible tool for commuting in the city...my only complaint is the flatness...fun for 10 miles...idk about 30-40 miles though.....put that thing in granny gear and climb the hills and ride the 'bomb'

Here just outside of Sacramento we have the American River Bike Trail that follows the American River from Downtown Sacramento to Folsom Lake and is over 30 miles long and is very scenic. Video clip: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIK6emerlKh0fJI I cannot imagine having 131 miles of path to ride! That sounds amazing. I would simply have to build myself up to ride the whole thing in one single day. This is a great example of what can happen when a community is unified and determined to have a facility like this and the City/County work to make it happen. Inspiring.

Somehing to do with licensing / registering bicycles as some type of motorised vehicles, that would bring further troubles. No true cyclist wants to get entangled with dumb legislature and rules and stuff for cyclists on any of these roads and anywhere else, for that matter. (Too many) rules would ruin the experience, the freedom that cycling offers people.

This path is NOT a non-motorized path. Look up the State's definition of motorized cycles. E-Bikes AND gasoline powered bicycles are LEGAL on the bike path, as long as the State's power/size levels are adhered to. Information from others here that differ from this are incorrect. I have ridden gasoline powered bicycles on the path FOR YEARS. Just be respectful and careful of speeds, regardless of motor type, use a muffler to be respectful of others if using a gasoline engine, and IGNORE anyone on the path that doesn't like it. The State rules apply to this public path, not those that are uninformed. Those that want to complain about your motor use, prior to looking up the applicable laws, are arrogant and rude.
