Arjae Vitug - The Wheel of Fortune (Arcanum 2021)

ARCANUM is an explorative production conceptualized and produced by Shruti Narayanan of the Samai Oriental Dance Company and brings together 22 international bellydance artists embodying and interpreting the different archetypes of the Major Arcana of the Tarot.
I represented the Wheel of Fortune, a card of life cycles, turning points, new beginnings, rise and fall, choices and luck. Life itself is a wheel that keeps on turning and turning. We rise, we fall, we rise up again. And in every turn, we are presented with choices that leads to where we are. It is said that each man turns his own wheel to whichever point his true self dictates.
Though bellydance is not any way related to the Tarot, its message, concepts, interpretation, beauty and mystery is enlivened through the use of bellydance vocabulary in all its forms.
This project also aims to raise funds for the Baale Mane Trust which is an organization that shelters and helps young girls in India. Here's the link for more info and donation: bit.ly/3mYz1Ua
