Scorched is part of the explorer pass for $19.99, they literally want us to pay $49.99 for just the freaking Island!!!!! Go back and look at the crunch, the two lines are one after another. And I'm not giving them any credit for the QOL updates. To be fair, they do need the money to mantain thousands of servers 24/7 + other operating costs, which would involve hundreds of thousands of dollars. I can understand why they need money, but it's still not the ethical way. I can understand the old gen servers being closed, but there is no reason to charge AGAIN $90 in next game consoles, specially for those who already own the damn game. Payed mods is also not very ethical, but at least talented mod devs can make a living from this. A 50% cut isn't that much, but better than nothing specially for those devs that steal mods and charge them without any consent (Like with Microsoft's Minecraft, where they state they can use any mod and charge for them at any point in time without the constent of the mod owner, very scummy).

Great video man. I'm fine with buying the bundle, and story DLC, but not the $40 worth of DLC we've already paid for, and completed multiple times with 100s to 1000s of hours on each. That part should be free at least. I am still sure that it's the switch version updated to UE5. Otherwise they would have to rewrite an entire game, and that isn't happening by August. I don't see how most of the base ASA is making it by August lol

I get that some people are upset about the money thing, but honestly, $100 for anything nowadays isn't much. Go out on a date and you're spending about $100 for 2 people depending on where you live and how nice of a date you're on. Wild Card has a really hard time meeting deadlines, hopefully they spend some of this money on recruiting so they actually finish their products. On the whole I think this is all good news.

My thoughts: I say for Ascended, they should lower the price of the base game to say $20-30 with DLC being paid, ONLY if they can verify that you haven’t had those DLC’s in Ark 1, so then players who have all the DLC’s don’t need to pay for them again and players who don’t will have to pay (I don’t know how they could verify that, but it’s my proposed solution, I would want to know better ideas). For Ark 2, I just wish they hadn’t announced it in 2020. It was going to raise too many hopes, and, for a game that is taking this long to release, is seeming to either be so good that they want to put as much work as possible or… they are really stretching or mismanaging their time. We just need to hope that the quality is worth it.

Yeah I'm not sure why people are acting like they fully announced it. If it was an official, not only would it be labeled Q4, it would have a proper date, and more than just some concepts. End of year has been a placeholder for decades, and as far as I know, has never changed. The only exception being when they did Quarterly placeholders like March 31s or September 30th.

Nothing in that aspect will change. It's the same game just updated with a bunch of QOL changes. The whole reason cheats are so successful is because they make so much selling them. They stay ahead of the curve, just like radar detectors. The moment an update comes out to anticheat the cheat makers get to work countering it.

@@ZealousAvenger Cheat guy here, the reason it's so easy to make cheats for ark is because of many reasons such as UWP apps such as ark win10 do not have an anticheat and battle Eye ( steam ark's anticheat ) is incredibly poor to the point where bypasses are available in source online for free. Unless ark invests in a server-sided anticheat or upgrades the current one, cheaters will run free, and cheat developers will still make cash.

Ark Survival Evolved is an 8 year old game. It's dated, it's passed it's Sell by date. Eventually the servers will have to be discontinued, so why not discontinue them now, 8 years down the line

And I wouldn’t care so much if it wasn’t for the fact that they are pulling strings behind the scenes to force people to buy this remake, and killing off all the servers/clusters that have been around for years. Which btw, are not cheap to maintain. And I know some clusters have 50+ maps. So on top of paying close to $300 per person for the game and DLCs( x3 in my home plus the cost of the game on steam x3 in my home) server/cluster owners are spending hundreds a month to play this game. And you know as well as I do a % of Nitrados profit is contracted to Wildcard cause that’s just smart business, so yeah imma be upset after 6 years and hundreds if not thousands spent that I now will have to pay more and lose all I have spent thousands of game hours building because they want more money for a game we never asked for. The thing is that the community wouldn't be so mad that it's not free, if only Wildcard didn't advertise it as free. I was a PS4 PvP player when I used to play Ark. I don't like the idea of ASA cross play with PC players. I hear they use cheat software. I used to hide my loot in wooden boxes under seaweed or under stone foundations. Noone ever found them. I suspect PC players would find them due to cheats and being smarter. Typically on Saturday you'd get your average PS4 PvP tribe building an elaborate base on the beach which inevitable got raided a day or 2 later. Then they'd quit.

I agree with what he is saying, however, for what I paid for ARK vs. the hours I've gotten out of it, I'd say it was the best value out there. I bought all the expansions as well. I've spent more on games and gotten a fraction of the hours out of them. So paying $50 for the remaster plus Ark 2 doesn't really affect me as much. I have no issue paying for something I know I'll get years out of vs spending $60 to $120 on a game I wont even get a half of year out of.

I know what happened they tried to import and reuse the assets from Ark 1 to UE5 and put it in ark 2 they broke real bad no work so they are allowing their team to learn the new engine and starting fully from scratch completely new for ark 2 but they got some of it to work AKA the island which was the only map that worked 🤣 so they will be putting it out and the new maps will take a while to upgrade and import to ascended and get out so be prepared for like 3 years plus of development for a god if war elden ring clone in ark 2 and the dlc for ascended will be strung out.

Kinda glad they taking more time to develop the game idc just make it much much better I want something thats not broken no bullshit of meshing and ddos or any cheating of any sorts. I still like ark 1 it holds a place in my heart but the game is just horrendous for pvp players like myself and thats not including the tek stuff but of course I did like that somewhat I just think that they need to get they’re shit together and look Rust as an example since is such a great example.

I agree the reason we stopped whas cheating, duping, floading the servers, meshing, ddos, but that is also part of the communatie to keep people from doing that again. That is not all the blame from def's also the rotten group of people that look for that shit to begin with, but the game was to broken and they where not honest about it and kept pushing DLC after DLC. But if they find a way to fix this and the game is going to be like it supose to be, who knows how many would return to the game. But i am for 1 not going to buy it until i see things are good!

It isn't as alarming as many people make it seem. People who play seriously PVP and PVE Official servers have the opportunity to claim again their stuff and the tribes they made on Ark: SE. And about the new consoles generation... well its been 2 years and a half since the new consoles were released, and by August it will be almost 3 years. Theres been plenty of time for people to upgrade and even if there was still people playing ark on ps4, xbox one or basic PCs they arent really playing seriously, no one can still be playing ark seriously on those buggy devices XD. Even if the problem its to pay for the remaster, what is wrong with u people, i get the whole part about the tweet by Jeremy Stieglitz where he said it was going to be free, but remember thet Ark UE5 at start was supposed to be a simple upgrade to the new engine with some little ajustments and tweaks. Now it is expected to be a fully rebuilt piece by piece, texture by texture game with all of the UE5 enhancemets (we are talking about nanite, lumen and RTXDI, which will make the game look astonishing) and even with a new canon map and many years more of support. It is not like they are asking for money just to simply moving the game from one platform to another. They are completely re building the game and some of the core mechanics, adding also crossplatform and cross progression while making it profitable for mod creators. I dont understand why people dont really get upset to buy remasters of games like TLOU or RE when they are only graphical upgrades but get extremely bad when a game like ark doesnt only remaster the graphic aspects, but actually gives QOL improvements and gives the game many more years of life

In the other hand, making people pay again for every DLC sucks, but anyways, they kind of deserve it if they will spend a lot of effort and resources into them Also the ARK 2 delay is completely DISAPPOINTING, Its been 2 years and something around 4 months since it was first announced and we only have concepts and 2 cinematic trailers that doesnt even represent how the game is going to look like, and yet there is still a year and a half to wait, that is the part that really sucks

The public servers have been toxic forever. Them going away won't affect the people playing solo or on private servers at all. Which is what I plan to keep doing, as I have no interest in Ark 2 at all.
