I was so happy celebrating that this worked on my first try that I didn't notice how the wyvern slipped out of it and it almost kill me XD I gotta check how did he got away and fix that. Tomorrow. But thanks for the "blueprint", it's been really helpful!

:O thats not good that have them escaped. someone else had also similar problem, but that is probable because I build on a flat surface and if you have height difference, the gaps become a bit bigger, so maybe at the ceilings, you have to place a wall down so it will get blocked more

Yes, it wasn't on an even surface, so I think the gaps in the roof were a bit bigger. I already put a couple more ceilings. Then I tried it a couple of times, but couldn't get them in and didn't have time to check again.

build a generator connected to a keypad, go to behemoth gate set the pin on it to 1111, highlight keypad and select right hand option, type 1111, gate closes.

This is still my go-to Wyvern trap design. Most times...as long as I keep the aggro on me with the wyvern, I don;t actually have to close the door. I just land and start shooting. It works every time, takes minimal materials, and does not take forever to ferry the materials you need out to what is, after all, not a very safe place! Just don't forget that preserving salt!

You can re-use wyverns, they reproduce milk an hour after being awake, just make a few of these traps and keep em set up, great vid btw

I have been farming the same one near my base (outside of render distance but close enough to prevent despawn) I have gotten 30 milk off of it. Just come back every hour or so. If your bird is fast enough it will stay trapped if not, it will render before your trap and fly out, but its still easy to re-trap Edit: I got a nice low level fire wyvern trapped there, takes 6 tranq darts every time

Anyone else that can’t place 3 ceilings on any of the doorframe walls? Even with the stone pillars, it says no foundation nearby, any ways to get around this?

Worked perfectly for me thank for the tutorial! I had the hardest time shutting the door before it would turn and get out, my bird was only around 185% speed, solved it by hitting the door on the way in instead of trying to shut it after the wyvern was inside, in case anyone has that problem too try hitting the door as you fly by on the way in.

Thanks for the design. Several people on the official PVE I play on are using it. One dragon did escape from the end where you shoot it (we have only trapped 3 so far). This could be because we built it on sand that is not perfectly level. The ceilings on each side did not meet perfectly in the center. We added 4 more roofs on that end and will see if that fixes the problem. One of the other traps like ours was also modified to add more roofs, so this appears to be a real problem, not just a glitch we saw once.

Heya, Nice that you use it. I think my design works on flat surface, like I build it in the video. I didn't test it on sloped/uneven ground, but I can imagine if parts are lower, the gaps become bigger. With bigger gaps, more change the wyvern can escape. I think a few extra ceilings or walls down from the ceilings should fix it

I had to add at least 2 ceilings, as there were two places we saw the dragon escape from. I ended up adding about 10 though, because we can't afford to lose any :) I'm wondering why the trap needs to be so long. We noticed that they sometimes run from you to the end with the gate, and you have to move forward. I wonder if a smaller trap with smaller gaps (using essentially the same amount of material as your design would work OK.

I think a smaller trap can work, I made it like this so when I fly in and wyvern follows, I have time to fly around and close the door by hand. but with a keypad you dont need a large trap

You can have a milk farm, because the milk is refreshed in approximately 1 hour. :) The milk lasts 3 hours in preserving bin with salts. So its worth it to keep like 4 wyverns and milk them when needed or just to stack and trade :)

I remember watching another video about a player trapping a wyvern, he tranqed it and got milk, it woke up later and he forgot to kill it, but he wanted to see if it will give more milk, so he tranqed it again, AND IT DID!!! 👌🏼 It is a time saver instead of tranqing and killing new wyverns... but since I have a new update, Idk if the developers fixed that or not... I haven’t tried it yet bcz the developers fixed the argentavis speed to stay at 100% and you can’t level up the movement speed anymore 😕

--Yeah, I do suggest having Persevering Salt in your inventory to prolong the usage of the Milk. Yours and the Tamed animal for storage. Some might miss that. Also Persevering Bin with Salt added yields a ton of xtra time before spoilage.

Just a little note, the pillars you palce to keep the ceilings up, it only works for the first 5x doorframe wall pair, the 6, 7 and 8 rows will not affect it. so you are using some kind of mod that should be mentioned, just in case.

Fresonis, you don't have to kill the wyvern, wait 2 or so hrs after it wakes up and knock it out again, it will have milk again. Sometimes the wyvern de spawns tho.

After the flyers nerd I feel like the way that makes the most sense is 1st have 2 or more people 2nd Choose s fast flyer, or beefy a flyer and focus on health and maybe stamina 3rd install a keypad 4th don't bite the Wyvern shoot it from a distance so u have time to get to your trap 5th have your friend close the gate for u with the keypad so u don't have to worry about it getting out 6th don't kill it just wait an hour, it would be to hard to trap another

My brother and I did something similar, except ours tapers from behemoth gate size down to dino gate size. It's also much shorter so it requires someone to close the gate as soon as the wyvern is inside.

You should consider using a keypad. Wyverns do have a long turning radius, but wild ones turn pretty quickly and as you trap them they will remain aggro'd on you and follow you anywhere you go, thus closing doors will be much more difficult. While this is a cheap build, the risk of losing your argent is much much higher.

if you upgrade it to metal then you can use the same trap for trapping alpha wyverns in it and kill them easily, you get 50 milk and nice loot from alphas, stone also work but the alpha destroy the stone fairly easily, so you gona repair it all the time

Thankyou so much for this. As the only player on a server I've been looking for a cheap and easy way to get wyvern milk. I got the building materials for it and hauled them over to the flat spot with my argent, as soon as I landed there a deathworm tried to eat me and I narrowly escaped an alpha wyvern just chillin' around there. stuck on what to do now as I can't even get off my bird to build it.

I ended up doing a dino wipe, the alpha would of been too fast :P Got it built up, works great :) I stole and hatched a level 96 fire wyvern last night. I got the imprinting to 95%, so glad I can get milk now. thanks again

Open the doors so they go inwards, then you wont have all the problems with the Wyvern not flying into the trap. You open the door inwards by opening it from the outer right side.

Fresonis, could you maybe test something out with your trap? My tribe is a not the point where we can handle trapping a Wyvern, but from what I can read on the Wiki you can keep your trapped wyvern and it will produce 5 more milk every hour. Would you be able to confirm this for me? If this is true the trap could just be made permanent and just leave the Wyvern inside while you tame the baby Wyvern. Essential get 5 milk keep some in a refrigerator while you feed the baby wyvern when it needs food. The baby wyvern eats slower than other babies so with this combo one trapped wyvern would be all you need correct?

That unfortunate. We were already planning to trap one since we read the wiki and it said we could. Well.... time to go catch a good Argentavis to get a wyvern.

yea you can only harvest them once and have to kill them, they do not reproduce milk. Or maybe after a long long time, but you need to keep the wyvern knocked out, that will cost a lot of stuff to keep it sleeping. So it's faster to just trap a new one. But I don't think you can keep it a sleep to keep collecting milk

Yeah the misunderstanding came from the wiki with this exact quote. "Its possible to build cages in which to trap female Wyverns to make milking them easier. Be aware that re-knocking out a trapped female Wyvern does not give any more milk immediately. To obtain more milk if the female is trapped knock it out every hour for 5 more milk."

Extand outwards from that pillar with another pillar where you want to place another ceiling. Pillars should snap side by side to each other and then it should work.

it is. speed doesnt get lvled up, no matter if its a lvl 4 or a lvl 120. you can lvl a lvl 4 argent up to250 movespeed, just keep in mind it has less stamina/hp/melee than a high.

Your videos have been a big help! I have run into an issue with my trap, I cannot get some of the pillars to snap to the fence foundation so I am unable to finish the ceilings. Do you know of a work around for an issue like that?

if they don't snap to the fence foundation but you already have some pillars snapped to other fence foundations, just snap them to those pillars. pillars that are snapped in line with other pillars give support, so you can extend the ceilings that are at those pillars. It's not how you intended it, but you can still close the roof with ceilings :)

Fresonis Had to build on a very subtle slope, it's hardly noticeable but just enough to cause 3 pillars to try and snap too low, blocking them. Tried using ceilings to bring pillars down but that didn't work. Do you mean just place the pillars adjacent to each other down the line?

if you place a pillar just somewhere rando without anything nearby and you grab another one, you see it will snap to that 1 pillar already there. just do that. What you also can do is place a ceiling on the pillar standing, connect another ceiling to the place where no pillar is and just extend 1 more time. now that ceiling should be above the place where you want a pillar. just place a pillar down from that ceiling into the ground. now you have foundation support there and build a wall up and ceiling like the rest

Sadly, you can no longer upgrade Argentavis speed. I would recommend a pteranodon or a tapejara for this.

I'm sorry I didn't show laying down every single fence foundation and placing every doorframe. I wanted to let people do also a bit of thinking for themselves. Maybe they want smaller or bigger etc. But yea it could have been in the tutorial for those that want to see everything
