Thanks for the tutorial. I was wondering if you can point me in the right direction on adding caves and landscapes that go below the sea level? Like a deep valley/canyon below the water plane, how do I take the water out?

very nice tutorial, and actually one that helps newbs, but could you please add another tutorial about caves? One about setting up one, creating the entrance and walls + ceilings?Plus maybe one about how to load up a copy of the Island to mod caves in?I read the tutorials and can't load the whole Island map at all.

Many thanks for your tutorials! I have an problem with lighting through walls/rocks etc. on my map extension. Cant use the blueprint PostProcessEnter/Left because its only Island Extension... any idea how i can try to overwrite the global light on map extension?

need a tutorial on how to do world sounds, amb, looping, etc. All I find is 'do sound cue' yet nothing on *how* to do said sound cue.

Hey wie mache ich eine Höhle unter Wasser? Und wenn ich die beiden Boolians aktiviere, werden die den Bossen hinzugefügt und es kommt ein Error. Hilfe. Ich will eigentlich nur die Schwebepartikel die unter Wasser sind weg haben, da ich ja nicht unter Wasser bin. Gruß GamerEL

You say that the structurepreventionzone must be in the primary level and not a sublevel so I'm wondering how that works with map extensions? I wanted to make a place that players can teleport to, like a central hub, but placing it underground to keep it from being an eyesore doesn't seem to work. No level that I create has bInCave as a bool variable and I can only seem to find reference to it in TheIsland map. Simply creating that variable in my map extension then changing it seems to have zero effect in game, even though it seems to work in the dev kit. Does the map need to be reparented or am I out of luck with placing this below ground?

with map extension its hard , i think there in no way to build under the landscape with an extension but why not use normal map high and behind the level boarders ?

Nice, I didn't realize that was possible. Other games I've modded for would kill your character for being outside the bounds so I never thought about it. Would definitely make it better for not cluttering the island up. Thank you!

Another question i had (and i am not watching the video I made a map without caves) is how do i make arches, i.e. a construction where i have an empty space under a sculpt

There are several arch meshes in the kit. In The Center map the meshes are placed on a separate level. Interestingly enough a good chunk of The Center is made of meshes. Search for Rockgroup73 and SM_ArchRock for some examples.

I would like to make a map with a number of underground areas like caves and rivers that connect places on land. Is there any way to do this without putting it in a structure prevention volume? (id like players to be able to build houses in this large caves and rivers that will be under the terrain)

You need a structure prevention volume ! if not all the Dinos disapear ... but you can disable it. then you can build and the dinos dont despawn.

oh cool so I can make it so it will recognize a cave as part of the map, but disable it so it just functions as normal land. Great

Some advice with tutorials: one, never just start off with stuff already pre made. I had to ask elsewhere on how to make and shape the zones you're adding. Last I keep hearing about disable the zone so you can build and dinos don't despawn... all the check box's outside 'only prevent in pvp' are unchecked. Is it checking the disabled box that allows you to build inside and prevents tamed dinos from despawning, or is it leaving it unchecked? I ask as in my text cook of my map it's all left default, with disabled unchecked, and I can still build inside the small cave I made. Didn't test with dinos yet, so I'm confused over this detail.. It just don't seem to matter if disabled is checked or unchecked, I can builld inside reguardless?
