ARK: Fear Evolved!

For the next week the ARK is undergoing a spooky seasonal change where the air is cooler, the days shorter and the nights longer, and a Blood-Moon shines brightly as bats and creepy-crawly creatures of the night appear above ground.
Survivors should take care when exploring the island as the mythical DodoRex stomps across the land with an army of blood-thirsty zombie dodos in tow, and a variety of re-animated Skelesaurs walk the lands.
For those brave enough to face their fears, there will be a number of new items to craft and collection including thatch-rich scarecrows, custom Jack-o-Lantern carvings, Skelesaur Costumes, Candy-Corn loot drops, Witch Hats, Masks and a Saddle for your spider! You’ll also be granted the opportunity to tame endlessly-rejuvenating Zomdodos, Bats, show off artifacts collected from your adventures in the dangerous caves and of course earn a brand new Steam Achievement!
Looking to cram your friends full of sugary multicoloured, recycled wax-candies shaped like triangles? Keep an eye out for our Candy-Corn supply crates, which we've stuffed full of ARK free-game codes. Once you get one, you can gift it to apologize to your friend for force-feeding them terrible candies that nobody wants.

If the events they hold are this big of a deal... then i gladly agree with paying 20 extra for a DLC while it is in Early Access. While i agree early access DLC is kinda stupid, It's a bit different if the Dev actually do cool shit like this for free.

***** I think it is mostly to do with the issues the game has currently. With all the bugs and issues that game has and they choose to focus on adding in more content and even DLC that you need to pay for rather than Fix the known issues already. One such issue is Official Server Taming, I understand making big end game shit like 4 - 9hr tames.... but making a small starter Dino like a Ankylo take up to 4hrs is a bit much. Taming in general needs a revamp/overhaul... it's broken rn. The number 1 most complained and known issue is a mix between Server Stability/Lag and Optimization. While ARK has come a long way since release and Optimization is better than it was, it is still not Perfect... it is nowhere near Perfect in fact. My PC is strong enough to run it at 60+fps on Medium+ settings... yet i only get 20-40fps and the game freezes up completely at times on Lowest Settings < This is not my PC... it's the game. I've played more intense games than this at 90fps+. It says a lot when someone you know is playing with a 980TI and Skylake build... yet even they are forced to play on Medium Settings and are lucky to get 70FPS and even then the game Freezes completely or crashes. In the end > The game is fun and it's really good, However the games condition is the most garbage game i've seen in years cluttered with Bugs issues and horrible Optimization.

This Update is terrible. It was so hyped and it's total shit. Here's why: The main Star of the update, the Dodorex is un-killable without cheating in some fashion whether that means god mode or playing on a private server with ascendant spawns and dino damage modifiers, etc. Even the largest tribes on official servers can't kill it. No chance in hell in killing it alone in SP which is what I play. It will likely despawn before you can kill it even if you could and It has so much health that if you lure it to the ocean to drown it, it will take to long and just despawn before it drowns. It can break metal easily... If it spawns by your base, you're screwed. Armies of rexes can't kill this thing. I spawned one in single player Lv1 dodorex. 666666.5 health. Spawned a 700% damage Ascendant Rocket launcher. Took 130+ rockets to kill. That same launcher took out a level 120 alpha Rex with 5 rockets. That's how OP the Dodorex is. It's broken. It forces you to cheat. *All of this if you can even find the thing at all.* I've spent several hours yesterday looking for it in SP keeping it night time with cheats so it couldn't despawn. Scoured the entire island. NEVER FOUND IT. What a jip. Had to spawn one. They stealth changed the material costs on behemoth gates. TROLOLOLOL. I get why they did it, so people won't be using gates as walls. That's a good reason. But you can no longer hold all the materials to craft them. TROLOLOLOL. This will likely get fixed but it's a fuck up on the devs part. The scenery is nice. So are the scarecrows, pumpkins, and gravestones.That's about it. Skeletal dinos. I've barely seen any. Spawn rates are really low. And you Can't tame bats at all. spiders sure use bug repellent but bats never land and attack everything and get killed right away. This update is a cluster fuck. What a waste of dev time for a broken reskinned dragon dodo. Edit. Just tamed a high level spider. One of the worst and most useless mounts ever. For something so small it is as slow as a bronto. And crappy weight, like 150 weight on a lv 150. useless. Also due to the crappy spawn rates of skeletal dinos the event will end before you can even find two of each skull costume to get the witch hat stuff. Alpha raptors aren't hard to find, just rare. Rarer are alpha rexes. And rarer still are carno's. Good luck finding two of each on top of the 3 herbivores. Even if you do find them the event and halloween will be close to over so you'll get to wear them for like a day or two tops. This event should have happened 1 week sooner to let people to get them so they could actually wear halloween themed stuff during the event not after.
