Ark: How to Build | Quetzal Platform Home

I'm stilling rolling with my platform mini-series here, this time on a Quetzal! If you can get over the constant swaying & the annoying noises coming from your companion's throat, this could be your very own vacation home!
It's very small, it's not meant to house 40 people, or store all of your materials. The idea here was to have a little RP nomad style home in the sky. I built a crafting area, living area & decorated accordingly.

Amazing build 😭😭 I noticed a similar struggle I have w the snapping, if you put your quetzal in the air and dismount it’s a lot more stable and doesn’t wave around as much!

I’m confused on how you got that much on the platform saddle I could only fit 2 foundations and 4-5 ceiling with railings I added a bunk bed 4 furnaces a smithy and 4 storage bins and it said that was max building limit

SS allows it. Aaron Longstaff has a great video showing you how to do it on non-modded servers though! I believe it is one of his treehouse builds and he uses thatch ceilings to set it up!

Three haters gonna hate. This is a great video, excellent pacing, suburb music selection. And you don't go so fast that it's hard for me to keep track of your steps. Though I'm curious what your platform limit multiplier is, and also if you're using S+ or not.

Thanks so much! I’m not sure what the limit is, I was on Singleplayer & didn’t mess with any settings. I did use s+ but I’ve had a couple of people report that they were able to recreate this without it 😊

@@SteveUnperceived Yeah i always am on singleplayer. I will do that because having a huge base on the quetzal would just feel nice lol. I don't understand why people keep talking about official..... they are literally unplayable. Everywhere you spawn you are in a giant mega base ad before you can even find a way out of that maze, you will be thirsted/starved to death. Also, all those mega bases results in endless lag

No matter what i do i cannot get my triangle foundations to snap onto anything outside the central stone foundations even though i copied the guide exactly. I even changed the game.ini to bDisableStructurePlacementCollision.

I really wish there was an in-depth engram analysis for these builds. There are some that just make me sad because there are items not unlocked by the fact I don’t have dlcs.... and some who use so many different items I run out of engram points to get them all..

@@Kisrra it’s ok, it’s not your fault, a creative mind knows no bounds! If anything ark should bump up the max level a bit more because I know for a fact some other islanders have to use a different account just to make their weapons because they went and engramed builds. Online servers do us dirty though with only 4000 useable points but in single player we get plenty to make everything. ;3;

I agree! Or they should add some sort of collectible to give you extra engram points! It’s definitely made for group play, but that’s not always fair. Some people like to solo 🙂

Do you still build on ARK? Would you like to come build on our Cluster? If so “Deathace” is the cluster and we have all the maps, PvE, and The Center on PvP. We would love to have some of your builds. PC Cross play is enabled on our cluster.

@@Kisrra thats awesome! The design is really so warm and cozy. I actually meant like literally where do you stand on the platform to fly it. It can't see the reigns/front of the platform on the base haha

@@AttackOnDentin haha oh! from the very front, you can grab the mount select. it is much easier to fly it when you jump off the platform & mount it from the ground. when you dismount from that, you will be place right in the front so you can walk around!

the triangle ones? they should be in s+. ss is just a spin-off of s+, i think it was made because there was a rumor at one point that s+ was going to be discontinued but they never ended up doing that 😊

I used the s+ spiral stairs on one side of the build for a mirrored look. But you can use vanilla ones. You’ll just have to move a walk 🙂

There shouldn’t be any problems doing that. The only thing that will be different is you’ll have to place a few fence foundations for some of the pillars, and the stairs will face opposite directions

can't place foundations under ceilings on xbox :( and pillar placing on foundations might not be possible.. fence foundations might have to be used for that

You can, I’m not sure how but if you check out one of Aaron Longstaff’s older videos, he places foundations under ceilings & he strictly builds on console. I believe it’s a treehouse he does but I could be mistaken. 😊
