As someone who used to play on pvp officials as a casual player, the cheaters are the reason I stopped playing. The people who got driven out went to official pve to grief and be a nuisance, that and pillar spamming/blocking resources, etc. After that I only played on SP or a private server with friends. Which sucked cause pvp could be a lot of fun when ppl weren't assholes.

Just don't buy anything else from them again and do not use nitrado for server hosting and don't play on official servers or servers hosted by nitrado. @@squid4232this seems to be a thing for most multiplayer games now. Do a qwik search of Dayz cheating and server hosts. One server hosting company attacked another making their servers unplayable. Then to top it off, offered players to buy priority queue for a monthly cost, top that off with those same people speculated to be selling hacks to their own servers for a monthly fee. Their thought is, let’s get them to pay to get in the server faster. Then, let’s sell hacks to our own servers so players get destroyed and want revenge, so they go looking for cheats to counteract the cheaters…. Video games are insane nowadays. No multiplayer is safe. All I play is SP or just enjoy life without video games.

I used to take comfort in the fact that all cheaters were awful players with no skill. Else, why would they need the cheats. But... after being destroyed countless times by these awful players you're left with only three choices: Learn to live with it, start cheating yourself, or stop playing on official servers and start your own private, password protected server. If none of those options are appealing, you really have no choice but to leave ARK behind and move on to a different game.

The issue is when the cheaters arent awful players. When they actually know what theyre doing and doing it for profit, youre never going to win that fight unless you beat RMT somehow

@@kmsdaily I don't think the people who create and distribute these cheats are particularly skilled players either, they probably barely play the game. I can agree that it might be more about making money than getting an edge against other players for them but the majority of cheaters are the ones who spend money on buying the cheats - and they probably are awful at the game or they wouldn't be dishing out real money for cheats. Put a half-decent real player up against either a hacker or a cheater without access to their cheats and I have no doubt that the real player would destroy them at the game. All that aside, I do respect your point that, as long as it is profitable, there will always be people who create cheats for money and they will continue to do so as long as there are players, awful or not, who facilitate it by paying for them. All of the tribes I have been in have used cheats, justifying it with flimsy excuses like, "We only turn our cheats on when we know the enemy is cheating." So by distributing cheats quickly and making it impossible to stand a chance at the game without cheating, the people making money off it are increasing their market. If there were some miracle solution to beat the RMT that would certainly make cheats harder to obtain. It might be too little too late for ARK though...

Honestly I put this on the whole gaming industry. They want our money but do very little anymore to get it. We are lemmings trying to find the next dopamine fix. We will buy anything for that fix. We all knew just from previous problems that ark was going to be a shit show but we bought it anyway hoping it was going to be different like there was a different team or different owner. There is a difference this time because they are scraping for money to pay off there lenders so they will do any and every unscrupulous thing they can to get the money. The platforms need to put a stop to the cheating by saying hey if you don’t have some kind of moderation in place we are not going to support your product or refund the customer on your dime if you don’t make the effort to moderate. Moderation has gone to the way side because it cuts into there profit and this is all companies now.

I've said it over and over again. Land claiming system. Should have a spawn zone. To build there, you must capture the flag. In-game bounty system. Ruins should first be up for the raided to pick up. If they don't clean up their ruins, make an in-game notification so the raiders can go reclaim the resources.

Ark PvP on official is and will always be the worst as far as cheating goes. The private server scene is slightly better due to the active moderators handling the cheating, but I don't know how they can fix this unless there is an ability to turn off selective commands on their specific servers.

Wildcard did the right thing!!!!!!!!!. They should be optimizing their game and not throwing money away fighting cheaters. It's just not possible to stop malicious actors from griefing, in any form, in modern day pvp games. The thing to do is rely on private servers and/or user created, ai-based anti-cheat technology. Studio Wildcard cannot stop cheaters. There's no difference between the people who destroy online gaming experiences and those that hold the US government hostage for way more money than some indie game company will ever have. Eastern communist states literally fund malicious activity to ruin your good time.

I play unofficial pve because of this crap. Official pve and PvP are toxic as heck and, frankly, this makes me sick to see the game I love so much being turned into a complete disaster. Snail probably did this on purpose and most likely used tea tribe as a test and experiment to see how it might play out. They are sick and sadistic and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was planned. But that’s my opinion. I agree that no one should ignore this no matter what platform or what types of servers anyone plays on. Thank you for covering this.

I’ve never played pvp but cheating is horrible. I play single player and I’m good at taming by myself *cough* 1,000 ish dinos *cough* my friends were shocked when I tamed a t-Rex in 3 days. It’s because I played on extinction map first by myself, no cheats. I hate cheaters and cheating.

What if, and hear me out, Snail was the one actually making these cheats for people to buy and telling Wildcard not to do anything about it. As some have mentioned: People have to pay monthly just to keep the cheats, and prices are not cheap. So Snail has their people make cheats for ASA, sell said cheats online that can't be directly tied to Snail and Snail gets all the cash. Sounds about up Snails alley.

Thank you so much for this video, I believe it had a huge impact and caused wildcard to stop window players from joining servers. I noticed that my server had no rollbacks as soon as that happened, so I'm sure people were cheating, on pve just like you said. I feel sorry for the window players who weren't cheating though, if there was any!

Gosh if anyone has a freaking way to let the devs actually read this, please, somebody tell them to make a flipping in-game bounty system. Please, someone tell the devs. They won't listen to me. This would make raiding and killing others dinos have a real reason to do so. Especially if you could then go turn in the token that the tame drops to receive payment from the bounty. Got raided and don't have a way to fight back? Pay to post a bounty. This isn't rocket science. The devs could easily implement this. If you know anything about using the Unreal engine and game development, you'd know this isn't too difficult of a thing to ask for

I'm speculative as to whether ASA will even make it to the Genesis Expansions. They (and primarily their Publisher) were indebted to begin with, and if the bulk of the previous DLCs are to be released for free, I can't imagine without borrowing more money or without finding an additional source of monetization that ASA will last. The sales, have not been stellar regardless of how you look at it. They shut down the ASE official servers for 1 of 2 or both reasons. 1) to strong arm the consumer into buying ASA to get that official grind. 2) because they could no longer afford to operate them on the scale they had. It also applies to Ark Mobile. Mobile games rarely if EVER get shut down if they have a positive cost-to-operation ratio. With speculation on if Ark 2 is even currently under development, and rumors that they cannot afford to finish nor release Ark Animated, I have heavy doubts ASA will have a long shelf life if the (righful) negative aspects/press aren't handled accordingly and expeditiously.

I've been playing on an unofficial PVE server since launch and we've had a few instances of people using creative mode and god mode to grief the server. We've basically had to lock it down with no ways to get in besides joining the discord first. Makes it hard to grow your community that way.

I totally agree that in any multiplayer game, the Console should be locked out completely to the player, especially in pvp multiplayer games. But honestly... who's fault is it really that so many gamers cheat these days? It's a damning indictment of today's gamers, that cheating has become standard place for far too many players. Here's the thing: Cheating is literally for losers, because winners/good players don't need to cheat to play well/win. Those cheaters who then brag on winning, when using cheats/exploits/glitches, are the saddest and most pathetic of players. Only a simplemind would justify cheating with, "Because I can."

Competition on PC is like signing up for a stock car race and everyone shows up in a F1 car from different years. V6, V8, V10 with or without turbo... There is a reason fair competition has regulations on what hardware you can use. Console is where the fair competition starts. Customers are asking for PVE console only servers as well, but certain ppl at SWC think their opinion outweighs what the customers are asking for. Customer: Can I get a #7 with no mayo. PVE is also effected already, we have multiple people (the usuall suspects) speed hacking to all the lv 150 rexes and other boss dinos, running caves and picking stuff outside mesh etc. If you report these issues on official forums, using official links to report the exploit YOU are the one who gets a warning from the incompetent moderators.

We got tired of the glitchiness and the fact that, as console players, we got essentially screwed when it came to being able to progress and we checked out of official. We got a private server and couldn’t be happier. Boosted the rates to a level where you can make some actual progress and have the ability to build in any location and not have any resources completely wiped from existence. For example… a tribe claimed Herbivore Island and pillared the entire thing off with pillars and foundations, completely killing any resource spawn. It nearly slows down progression for new players to a crawl since you need to progress to metal in order to progress inward on the map. Assuming you don’t go completely crazy and Leroy Jenkins inland of course. Only downside is that we’ll have to learn to tame everything and not be able to trade with other players.

Yep! We started on PvP 9039 and was instantly met with speed quetzals. They got banned after a few days but not after their buddies got to a stage where nobody could contest them, then they went full tyrant demanding in game payments to stay on the server. We've been playing on another server and right now we have video proof of three different groups, who are seemingly all allied (everyone seems to get attacked by them....except for each other) all using cheats. Speed hacks, esp, aimbot. We even just made a discord server today so everyone can share their videos and stuff. It's ridiculous and really kills the drive to play PvP. Nothing more annoying than dying because a stupidly fast tame just materializes, picks you 100% of the time and basically teleports you to the other side of the map into their turrets in 0.2 seconds. We lost two 2 different caves today, to people just running past heavy turrets and blowing the generators without being killed by them, we're pretty sure there's people intentionally crashing the servers multiple times a day also - perhaps a new duping method, or we noticed each time it went down the level of the giga near us changed.... There's just so much bullshit right now. They loaded up an old version of the game, updated the graphics and sold us a pile of shit. But with all the tlc changes for the game. It's a shame, we were super excited to get a fresh start going on official and it's just totally killed my tribes desire to play.

I personally know some cheaters on this game. One of them bought the steam version, tried cheats and got banned. The other one casually said, I’m waiting for the windows version. Even though the steam version is out.(this was before the launch of Windows) I was like are you waiting so you could use cheats? He didn’t say anything.

After 30 years of Gaming, I gave up on PVP. There will ALWAYS.. ALWAYS! Be someone who figures out a way to cheat so they can WIN! Unless you have the ability to cheat, with the best of them, there is no point to PVP. It creates a lot of whining and crying and screaming. The last game I PVP'd in was ESO, and MAN I had so much fun, until the macroers and cheaters started getting a handle on it. Then I walked away. So I have not PVP'D in about a year. LIFE IS GOOD! I am having fun again in a PVE server. The only real downside to it, is that they keep changing things to "fix" the balance and the PVP side of it. At this point in my life, I just want seperate games. Seperate PVP from PVE, so those of us who want to have fun CAN have fun, Let the pvpers all scream at each other and cheat in their own game. Maybe one day......

Ark: Cash n Dash Ascended I've only ever played ASE on single player and this is why. Constantly having to worry about losing everything I spent weeks or months working my ass off to build and obtain is not fun. Instantly losing it all to cheaters and cowards who will only attack you when you are not logged on is just unacceptable. Idc for playing Ark with other ppl anyway since I'm only in it for the dinosaurs. Plus, I get a greater sense of accomplishment from doing difficult things on my own that would be easy for a tribe to team up on like taming that first quetz from the passenger seat of a tapejara using just whistle commands or trapping and ko'ing a high lvl giga. Imo playing with a tribe cheapens the experience bc everything becomes too easy when you have eyes all over the map at all times quickly finding and taming high lvl dinos

So all I’m hearing is disable cross play because PVP is as toxic as it’s ever been And the anti-cheats don’t work like the past. Wildcard would do something if snail would actually let them we all know snail is prevented them from doing different things in the past. Including giving people that pre-ordered ASE in game, preview the ASA upgrade for free, like promised. That was before snail started screwing with their profits and almost became bankrupt and all the lawsuits. Snail has removed much of the proof from the Internet, but some of us still have screenshots of all the original information
