hey i love how beginner friendly these vids are, i just have one question tho, does this server allow crossplay between microsoft sore ver or console xbox?

Your videos deserve WAY more likes. Sorry if I need more clarification but I'm a total noob at the server stuff. I have a "TheIsland" server dedicated that I've been running for me and a handfull of friends. It's working fantastic, I'm running 10 mods on it mostly for improving quality of life, (Less grind). My confusion is mostly because I need step-by-step instructions for darn near everything in life. 🙂 1. I have one server, works great. 2. So now I need to create another server? Your instructions on creating/maintiaining a server using ASM are fantastic. I guess what I'd like is maybe another video on how to add a second server without messing up my first server. Do I create new directories? Do I go through the entire process again? 3. Apologies ahead of time for being slightly slow on this. And thanks ahead of time for your respones.

Yep, you create a new profile for the second server and go through the steps again. Use a different directory for the new server and different game and query ports. Easiest just to increase your ports by 1 for each. Then you will have to do the port forwarding for the new ports as well.

I'm having some trouble traveling from my main map (Lost Island) to the new clustered map (Aberration). Aberration shows up as part of the cluster when I go to transfer servers, I get all the way to the spawn location map and then when a location is selected I am prompted to make a new survivor. There is no option to download my original character. Ports are all taken care of, transfer settings are all set, and if I do make a new survivor I am able to load right in and the server seems totally fine. Any idea what might be causing this? Thanks!

Check to see if your Router uses NAT acceleration. If so, try turning it off. If that doesn't help you can always turn it back on.

@@TwitchyDigitsGaming Thanks for the quick response! I'm running google wifi (a mesh network) and the main node is infact NAT, however I cant seem to change it. That said, my tribemates are also able to join directly through steam with the server's IP as I am, but cant complete the move over though the obelisk, same as I described. Any thoughts? @@TyranisCustoms Not sure, the acceleration is the only thing I have had that has cause that issue for me personally. I give it some thought though and see if I come up with anything else.

hi if you want transfer you in another map, you should launch 2 maps, you set the same number port for both?

Each server would need its own unique ports.

@@brucebanner_78 Make sure your port forwarding is done for all server ports through your router. You need TCP and UDP for all ports involved.

@@TwitchyDigitsGaming yes I do one map have 7777 another 7778 etc. maybe depend that I've an IP 192.168.1.69?? some ISP service can block that kind if IP in out going connection

try 7779 I think ASM is using 7778 as the availability port

i did same like in video. I also gave Firewall Rules. Im Using 2 Maps only for me (so its only myself on localhost). Both Servers are up and joinable but i cant travel cause i cant see them in obelisk etc

You still have to do port forwarding on your router for clusters.

@@spiele1111111112 Clusters require communication outside of your network for some reason... No idea why they designed it that way. Without it the list servers in your cluster do not show up in game.

@@TwitchyDigitsGaming Thx for the fast reply even after all those months and within the holiday season. That is quite sad as my router is locked down beyond reason and does not support NAT, etc.

What do you do if you have a server, setup, working, and showing Available, but when setting up the second, it launches but shows LAN Only when running?

make sure you are using different ports for all the servers and do the port forwarding for each in your router.

@@TwitchyDigitsGaming I did, pretty sure it has something to do with another service using 27016, swapped to 27019 and it's now available, but, getting connection timeout on ragnarok in the cluster, all of the other servers in the cluster are fully functional, it's quite odd. Any ideas?

@@Mastermind2214 Try verifying your game in steam, I have had that issue several times in the past on Rag. When it happened to me, Steam always found 3 files that needed re downloaded.

I'm having a problem with my LAN cluster. My ISP doens't support nat-loopback, is there any workaround ? The server works fine for my friends.

Honestly since they changed how user profiles save, I am not sure. You use to be able to manually move your profile between the servers... but I don't think that is an option under the new save format.

this didnt show if you made different folders for each server or what? coz in my case the ports get reset to the same as the initial server every time im guessing each server needs its own folder

Hi, I’m trying to look for a video tutorial on how to configure or maybe how to enable global chat across server clusters. I’ve watched your video about enabling it on ark server manager but once I’m in game, it doesn’t let me switch to global or even use tribe chat. Any help please?

If I am understanding you correctly, you want the global chat to work across the entire cluster? So if someone is on the Island server they could chat with someone on Scorched Earth?

So im hosting on ASM, copied over data from one server to a second. Created a cluster for both. At the obelisk, i get the option to travel to another server, but then "join with survivor" is greyed out. Any ideas?

So when you click travel to another server, your other server shows up in the list. You select that server, but join with survivor is not able to be clicked?

@@TwitchyDigitsGaming hey thanks for the reply man, yeah that's exactly what happened. Turns out I forgot to enable the transfer settings in ASM, but I got it fixed now. FYI to anyone, be careful to enable ALL transfer settings. I had enabled travel, but not player transfer, so I lost my character save to the void when I traveled 😅

Everything is set up. i port forwarded and i can see the other server at the terminal but the ''join with survivor'' button is not highlighted. is there any solution for this ? The same thing happens to my friend. PS: we have one character and only on the 1 server

check these settings: PreventDownloadSurvivors=False PreventDownloadItems=False PreventDownloadDinos=False PreventUploadSurvivors=False PreventUploadItems=False PreventUploadDinos=False it could be one of those preventing transfers.

when i try to launch the 2nd server it closes straight away, any ideas on this? Can only run 1 at a time for some reason?

I have a problem for some reason when i trying to click start to all maps its appears only working on one server while other servers just wont start . Help , also every time i starting server its updating pretty slow but i updated before that , can i start server without updating ?

You don't have to update every server every restart. Only when there are updates that need done for the game or mods. As far as the servers not starting up, I have the same issue. One of my servers in the Cluster starts up no problem the other two take forever. When they get stuck like that I just stop the ones that are stuck and load them back up one at a time.

Any news to host ASA for NO OFICIAL servers as ASM?

@@TwitchyDigitsGaming I've been wondering this as well. Didn't the ASM guy pack it in for the most part? I'm sure we can custom host still on ASA just we'll have to tweak the settings. I haven't looked into it but I wonder if the server configs read the same for ASA. Might be able to build your config mostly in ASM and then import that into the new ASA configs? Anyone try this?

@@EBackwards As far as I am aware, Wildcard has not released the server files for ASA to the public as of yet. Meaning we have no idea if the configs are going to work the same or if they are completely different.

It was password protected but i removed it. And its exclusive join.

@@mfsmit3631 shutdown all servers, double check that cluster transfers are allowed, double check that the exclusive join lists match and password field is empty. Start all servers again and test.

you could try adding your own Steam Web API Key into ASM. Also verify your mod IDs, may have a typo in one.
