Ark Survival Ascended: Alpha Manticore versus Rexes

No preparation, no planning. Decent rexes, but with poor saddles. What could possibly go wrong?

That's a good solution! Did you see the patch notes this morning? They say they've fixed a loss of items when ascending from scorched earth. It does refer to element, but I wonder if that's covered? Not losing shoulder mounts would be a good start... 😀

I had pretty buff rexes 30k hp and 1300melee and bloody thing only landed once, move the rexes around and everything. that why i only take in lightning wyverns now, you can't rely on the boss landing. Died cause ran out of time.

That is a brutal way to lose a fight and lose those very good rexes! How many wyverns do you take and with what stats?

Just a random question, was this with primitive saddles? :P Interested whether I'd be able to do alpha or not

Four had primitive, one had ascended and the rest had journeyman (around 50 armour each). As you can imagine, the primitive saddle rexes were a bit beaten up at the end - around half health left. That doesn't mean it's possible with entirely primitive, but it could be. My rexes are good ones - 20k health with 800-1000% melee, but you'll also note that I was pretty bad with getting them under control.

@@ZedsArk thanks for the reply!, I actually managed to beat alpha already 😊 now time for the horrible black pearl farming sessions😂 managed to do it with 15/20K hp, ~600 melee and prim saddle rexes. Ofc I had a yuty and daeodon

That's really good. Thanks for sharing - one of my main goals is trying to understand minimum requirements for boss fights and this is good to see. Tempted to see if mine are good enough with no saddles at all!

What sett8ngs are you using that your rexes have 800% dmg and 20k health. My lvl 300 fully imprinted rex only has 500% dmg and 14k health........

Singleplayer. No other changes thay affect melee and damage. Is that the same as you? What are your rexs base stats? My breeding line has what I consider to be very good base stats.

Yeah, a lot if people are saying the same: it looks like it's going to land and doesn't. I've got two vids of this fight - the other is with primitive saddles only - and both fights are different in how long manticore flies up for.

bro iv been in the boss fight for an 1 and 30 minutes and the manticore did not land once

Yeah, it's really variable. I think in both the manticore videos I've posted, there's been a big difference in time spent airborne.

Looking at the numbers, I think Manticore has a damage reduction in the region of 70-80%.

What texgrams does manticore give on gamma, beta and alpha, I want the tex transmitter but not sure if my breeds will handle alpha yet

What stats does your army have? I think alpha manticore is really easy and might just have another video to prove it... once I finish editing it. The tek transmitter is currently only available from Beta Dragon, not manticore at any difficulty.

Thought so, once iv done manticore, I'll travel back to island and focus on dragon with theri's My F & M rexs was 125 wild, Now sitting at lvl230 with 15k health 560 melee after bread and imprinted, im still leveling the tamed ones up though to pump out better breeds Iv been on the alot of wyvern hunts and managed to get some high levels breedable pair of each kind Gonna level them up throughout the week and breed them out

Ohh & the max wild are 150 on my server, my rexs ain't the best but since iv been on the server just over 2 weeks, I'm not doing too bad

20k health (I stop there when levelling and the rest goes into melee). So, melee is around 800 to 1000%, depending on the breeding line. The newer line is better.

What are the health and damage on the Rex and yuti

The rexes have 20k health and the rest of their levels I put in melee, so between 800 and 1000% melee. The only stat that matters for the yuty is health, so this one has 44k ish, but you don't need it that high.
