Steve, my personal ARK tutor! Almost four years ago you gave me the courage and strategy to tackle my first artifact cave (lava cave on Rag). Then you led my wife and I through all of the Island caves (with the help of Michelle). And yesterday, after searching for 15 heatwaves, your trap gave me my first Phoenix. Your research and efforts are unsurpassed. You are sure to show how things are done, even on "Official" servers, rather than, "Watch me beat the ice queen with a sword" types of videos. I've said it before, but I'll say it again, Thank you Steve! (I just spotted another Phoenix while fighting Dodo wyvern, trap is up, waiting for heatwave.)

Awesome video Steve. You make the best ark tutorials by far. I learn so much shit from you.. thanks a million mate That has to be the Best Pheonix trap easy. I breed my magmasaurs with fire wyverns instead of lava. You only have to heat the female up when you breed the magmasaurs.. I use two wyverns and switch when 1 runs out of stam because I play solo. Make a tutorial on that because I bet tons of people don't know you can breed magmas on any map with wyverns.

Just tried this.. 24 fortitude, calian soup, absolutely destroyed by the heat. I wonder if additional foundations on the bottom would allow you to put your platform further back and give you more distance to throw oil so you could avoid some heat If you build the ceiling overtop of the foundation you put down, you can attach another ceiling and put the ladder on the back side of it. Doesn't really seem to help though. I'd recommend bringing a stack of healing brews to help keep your health up

Ressurecting this! Steve, this trap sorta works on ASA as well! the wall height is different, we used 3x walls and it spawned below the trap, I removed the hatch frame and it flew up into it! It might be worth a test on ASA. Anyways we got our Phoenix and guess what? The vanilla ASA Phoenix can LAND on the ground! I have never had a Phoenix before and this guide helped us so much. I think there's been some sort of fix to this. When I went to place the foundation down, it would allow me to put it on top of the suspect location of the ashes. So I guessed to where it should go. Then build the trap using one large stone wall, two hatch frames, one giant hatch frame (Landing pad for wyvern), and the other standard bits. When the next heatwave hit, the ashes spawned inside the trap. I'm screwed. Nope, then phoenix appeared. In the trap. Used an Ember Crystal Wyvern to fry the little beast. One thing of note, the little beast is the Energizer Bunny of dinos. I had it follow my wyvern back to base and the little $#@^ doesn't land, it kept swooping at me. So remember that, if you didn't know that. I didn't.

Hey Steve (Nooblet), I don't own SE yet.. but I've came up with another way to do this.. don't know if it works, but I feel like it will kinda the same as you did here..
