It is a little late commenting this now but, I know the settings are very boosted but that's just the settings we use for Easy mode. It is like this to speed up the process of taming and levelling which if we wanted I could just do a note run and get the same result. As for the boosted stats and one shotting bosses, it is set like this to to skip the grinding which I would argue doesn't take skill anyway. Also the bosses in ark don't take skill regardless of the settings you use so don't cry about it :D.

Yeah at first I was like damn how can he deal so much damage. Then I realized in never played on anything less than 1 on the difficulty scale or (Override official Difficulty 5) at first I used "single player" settings then I found out that it makes the game more easy. I unchecked it and have set it to Level 6 to get maximum normal dinos at 180. Seems to be what most people prefer.

yea this speedrun is called "easy mode" although i wouldn't say it is easier its just quicker and you play the game different to what we call "default" in speedrunning. for example due to the high damage numbers the overseer fight is doable in under 1 minute if you can hit it with enough damage in a small time frame which skips the shield stage hence the name we gave it "shield skip", so it just moves the skill to different aspects of the game

I just read the first comment then realized that in terms of Any% this is a valid run, but is kind of stupid because if you are allowed to crank the stats, I could crank them in a way to easily destroy your time. As a long time ark veteran i think by removing any skill aspects from the game such as breeding (there's actually a pretty good fucking bit of skill to do it quickly) that this speedrun really is nothing short of lackluster at best. I can't really justify watching it except periodically on my second monitor as i play ark xD

People who are upset about the boosted lvl, stats, or xp and claiming that he’s “cheating” don’t understand speedrun categories. If you want an ark speedrun with grinding and normal tame times that’s a different category. In games like Skyrim there are categories where people spend the entire time glitching through the map to finish the game as quick as possible. Other speedruns are done completely by a computer and the interesting bit is how fast you can code the computer to go. This speedrun category has its own limitations and well as things that are allowed that some consider cheating. As long as the speed runner sticks to the rules of that speedrun category it is legit and valid. That’s the fun thing about speedruns they can be done any number of ways to highlight any number of things.

This is cheating dude how u can start in a server being max level that only happens in Boosted servers where settings are not fair. One thing is start the game and finish it doing glitches and other thing is before start change settings and to be more unfair i have read he uses commands to summon artifacts when they arent there and thats CHEAT u should leave a little space to spawn it again it does it alone and it takes 1 minute or less. When u use commands u are cheating my dude this is not a fair speedrun he must start level 1 and he can do any glitches he wants and the "easy normal or hard" mode are in bosses that u can choose when u summon them. So this is not a fair speedrun because stats in dinos are random since u start u can find the lowest level or the highest level thats the point of ark its a survival game it has default settings that u shouldnt touch

@@Sikxrio I watch Mario kart wii speedruns. The normal game goes only up to 150cc (speed). There are some people who thought it would be fun to go faster so they downloaded plugins that let them go 200cc, 400cc, 99,999cc, etc. They now speedrun these faster cc’s even though it’s not in the game and would technically be considered cheating. Only it’s not. Why? Because no one compares the 99,999cc with the 150cc category. They are different categories. Now there are a lot of speed running websites out there but the most common is speedrun.com. There you can make a category for whatever game you like as long as the community agrees upon the rules for that category. So, a max stats, limited artifact summon, ARK speedrun is completely fair. Why make this? Maybe just to see what’s technically possible without spending time grinding. Now you may not like that and it doesn’t reflect how grindy the game is: sure. But, as long as the rules for that category are upheld, it’s completely fine. Just people doing their own stuff to test different aspects of the game. No reasonable person is comparing this to a vanilla ARK speedrun.

But that doesn’t make it any less a speedrun, even with godmode stats. I also play ARK and have on and off since it first came out. Regardless, as long as he consistently follows a set of rules (which he is doing) it is a speedrun. It’s not a vanilla speedrun though and that’s what most people thought it would be when they first clicked (including me.)
