I remember back in the early 80s, it was still Frisco before the BN take over. the tracks were all but abandoned. the tracks at the old mill on 62, now MLK at the light on 71, were just trash. my grandfather told me about working there and he said on any given day, a single car, to 3-4 turned over. almost every day. now the mill is a motel, and the co-op is just a garden center. the interchange to Tulsa still has evidence is still there. on razorback rd. or 15th street it goes into the weeds that used to go all the way to the old wood chip plant. almost to I 49. past prairie grove, there are still culverts and wood piles where bridges stood,. west of lincoln the road bed is still there through summers. the Frisco station stood till the KCS depot was torn down in westville. out in the middle of the woods around Christy, there are large cement bridges. with the date 1909. in Telequah the depot has been rebuilt to a cafe. (last time I was through there) aint no telling what is there now. but its cool because on google earth you can almost follow the old road bed out past Christy, but nature has reclaimed most of it , but there is still evidence to this day of the old Frisco. it was took up for the war effort back in 1941-2. but saw a lot of action, like in lincoln, there are still tracks almost buried in asphalt. but you can tell the main, and the 2 set out tracks.

The Virginia and Truckee Railroad recently acquired one of the original Virginia and Truckee locomotives, the Reno and are planning on restoring it to operating condition

the A&M is all but a class 1. just need to hook up the signals, and some bypasses for meets. they already have bnsf, up, and KCS run throughs.
