Arkansas River Trout Fishing RUINED by IGNORANT Fly Fishermen! (NEW PB!)

I was out at the Arkansas River a couple days last week doing some trout fishing & the second day turned out to be an interesting experience 😂 The first day went pretty well & I landed a PB cutbow trout (rainbow x cutthroat hybrid) which was nice. The second day sort of went off the rails though, when two other anglers decided to come through acting disrespectful. Check out the video if you want to see what happened!

You are a champ man! I'm a fly fisherman and I might have lost my cool with those guys. You were without a doubt 100% in the right and the actions of these clowns do not reflect on the rest of us that are considerate, ethical, and respectful fly fisherman. Haha thanks man! No doubt though, I'm related to & friends with plenty of fly fishermen & none of them do stuff like that. I'm hoping they were just inexperienced & maybe learned from my obvious frustration with the situation, but who knows. I'm actually moving pretty soon, so might be a while before I'm back on the Ark, but I'm sure I'll be back before too long to at least do some fishing. @@AllmouthBassing Me too! I sometimes run into men who aren't so enthusiastic when I catch fish and they don't.... I am rooting for everyone to catch a fish. (Except the stupid ones that tangle their lines up with mine 🙄, or let their kids throw rocks, or blare their crap music across the lake, or the litter bugs that leave their trash,or they leave their fish dead on shore, or.....) I went to find a googansquad crank bait but haven't been able to‐ I caught a six lb bass last Sunday! She was beautiful. I am unsure how to put a picture up for you to see. Beautiful Cutbow. My biggest Cutbow is right at 20”. Gotta love pushy fly fishermen.

Thank you! Idk what it is, but I'm stuck at 20" with the cutbow. I've caught probably 5 now right around 20 inches, but can't seem to get anything bigger. & Yeah, I guess it must have been "their spot" 🤡😂

@@AllmouthBassing, I have some friends who fly fish. They’re pretty considerate, but there are some who aren’t. I’ve hit the same wall, 20”. I’ve caught a few around that size. Maybe I need to travel a little.

Me: my bell rang, so I yanked my pole! Them: well you snapped my fly line and I lost my trout Me: walk over there and find it! Beautiful trout man! ...your definitely better than me. My brother and I would've just rigged weights and treble hooks and cast for face! ..."My bad!" Lol 😆!!! I know it sounds brutal but fishing etiquette should not be forgotten. Don't leave trash behind, consider other fishermen, don't walk over my bait line, etc. Compare it to shooting... someone just walks downrange in your lane... what do ya expect?! The mask was for the fish... you know, covid and all. Lmao! Still, great work bro! 👍

Thanks for watching the whole video man! Sounds like you'd handle it the way a big part of me wanted to handle it. Like I said in the vid, I surprised myself a bit with the way I did handle it. I definitely agree with you about fishing etiquette. I don't even understand why someone would want to fish that close to someone they don't know. Most of us go out of our way to not have to deal with that 😂 & Yeah, that mask was a funny thing to snag on.

yep it hard to explain etiquette in a nice way , during these situation,. It can be done, but you have to take some time to construct your message before projecting it. I was fly fishing the special reg section one day, and a bait fisherman did not realize he might get in trouble. My delivery ...say something friendly in general... wait a minute or so , then tell him " I don't want you to get in trouble...but I saw a ranger bust someone the other day .....It's not well marked but this is a special reg section....then I explained where the special section ends." It worked out well. They need to put up or replace some signage, especially and the non spec reg section near the Nature center.

Yeah, it can be a headache fishing public waters at times, but I'm definitely grateful to have them to fish! I agree though. It seems like they do a pretty good job at marking most of the ponds in the area, but the river & much of the res could definitely be marked better.

Yeah lol, Colorado angling definitely seems to be dominated by fly fishermen. I don't mind them for the most part, but the ones that think they own the whole river like these guys really wouldn't be missed.

On the Arkansas? I always thought it had a lot of good current breaks & deep spots compared to many other streams. It was just outside of downtown Pueblo though 👍

😂 trust me, I definitely wanted to especially since I knew they'd break off anyway based on the strength of my line. I was a lot more mad than you could tell from the video. I was just doing everything I could to stay calm cause I've been working on my temper lol.

I feel your frustration bro there's literally miles to fish and people want to be right on top of you I've dealt with this situation this year not just with other fishermen but also with boaters. I agree 100%. Boaters tend to be even worse. I avoid the bigger reservoirs without no wake rules during the day during peak months because the tourists & tournament anglers are so disrespectful.

Nice bow, I’m glad you could release it! Just wanna say, I got into fly fishing through bait fishing, I I get how it feels. But I wanted to say, that there are definitely some fly fishing snobs out there. BUT not all fly fishermen are like that. Just please try not to stereotype fly fishermen as all snobs. It’s just like anything else, they’re are different types of people who handle things differently Nice video

Thank you! I'm glad I released it too. I don't like keeping them over 18" if I can avoid hurting them. I didn't intend to stereotype anyone though, & I apologize if it came off like that! My grandpa who taught me how to fish actually prefers fly fishing to any other kind of fishing & has a ton of respect for the water & the people around him. I was just describing the situation as it happened. These two specific individuals were ignorant fly fishermen, & that's all I meant by it. Thanks for watching 🤙

I'll probably get a Kayak eventually. I live on a pretty tight budget, so money is the biggest reason I don't have one yet. If this channel ever starts making me a little more money, I'll definitely reinvest some of that into better gear to get more interesting videos out
