$300 for a fire extinguisher is pretty crazy. Yes the Walmart brands aren't as good but it's a good way to go for most cases and we even have those in our fire engines.

The extinguisher you are referring to is our HalGuard, which contains a clean agent gas that leaves no mess and will not cause corrosion. This is not something you can find at Walmart, those are dry chemical which is very corrosive and messy. Fire extinguishers in an automotive environment, particularly Overlanding, will be subjected to a lot of abuse and need to be extremely rugged. Our extinguishers are UL listed, rechargeable, and come with a 6-year manufacturer’s warranty. Metal (not plastic) is used for all key components, including the valve assembly, handle, bracket, and siphon tube. The use of a clean agent and high-quality components results in a higher retail price. Those who purchase our Halguard extinguishers will be able to count on them working when they are miles away from civilization, and they won’t have to worry about cleaning up a major corrosive mess while on the trail.

@@H3rperformance Do your fire extinguishers contain Halotron 1?? I ask because: Halotron 1 is a colorless volatile, pressurized liquid with a slight ether-like odor. Short-term exposure to high concentrations may result in central nervous system and cardiac effects. Long-term exposure to concentrations above recommended exposure limits may result in liver effects. High concentrations of 20,000 ppm (v/v) or higher, may cause cardiac arrhythmia. Environmental precautions: Prevent material from entering into waterways, soil or drains. 2,2-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane This material is considered hazardous by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200). SPECIFIC TARGET ORGAN TOXICITY (SINGLE EXPOSURE) - Category 2 SPECIFIC TARGET ORGAN TOXICITY (REPEATED EXPOSURE) - Category 2 HAZARDOUS TO THE OZONE LAYER - Category 1

@@rabbittdroppings3056 Yes, our HalGuard extinguishers contain Halotron 1. The excerpts you have quoted are from the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) that is used in the transport, sale, and filling of extinguishers and bulk tanks. Regarding your specific questions: - Acute exposure would require a significant quantity in a confined space without ventilation. In this case, using it on an engine fire would present little risk. - The effects for long term exposure apply to improper handling in a filling/handling line, not the use of an extinguisher. In terms of toxicity and clean agent gases, Halotron 1 is of low toxicity. This is one of the reasons it has been a popular aviation fire extinguishing agent since 1994. Another reason for its popularity is its effectiveness at quickly extinguishing fire. The FAA considers any agent toxicity concerns to be significantly less important than the imperative to put out a fire - the combustion products of which are extremely toxic.

I’m sure it’s very effective..but I could buy a lifetime supply of Walmart type fire extinguishers for that price. It would be nice if “influencers” on occasion would take into consideration that average folks probably aren’t interested in spending this kind of money
@ArkansasOffroad2 жыл бұрын
I agree it's expensive, but there's still plenty of people out there that would buy it. Like I said in the video, I've had walmart extinguishers for years which still do the job. This is just a high end option for those who want the best. No pressure for anyone to buy this, just showing it's a very high quality option. Not everything on the channel will be for the average person.

As Grant mentioned, our HalGuard contains a clean agent gas that is clear, and will not make a mess, nor cause corrosion. It is true that sodium bicarbonate dry chemical extinguishers exist, and they are a much more accurate, safe, and effective way to put out a fire than Arm and Hammer from the box, LOL! Also, an extinguisher allows you to stand a safe distance from a fire. Unfortunately, sodium bicarbonate dry chemical extinguishers make a mess, and the agent is corrosive. Not a great choice for engine fires.

@@H3rperformance your motto is " being safe should be exciting" shouldn't safety also be affordable, or is that only an option for the wealthy? Really, "arm and hammer is corrosive".....is your arguement........dude, your trucks on fire- you got bigger problems than what i put on my battery cables terminals to clean the oxidation. Baking soda is in most fire extinguishers as apposed to your "clean agent gas". Which becons the question, " what kind of gas are you using? Can i look up the information in the msds? Wouldnt it be funny if its just carbon dioxide or sulferhexaflouride. That means you would be making a ton off of what animals waste or gas that is used as a parlor trick to lowering ones voice. Im sure your product is good and works as described but my opinions remain the same. With todays economy....who has the luxury to go off -road.
