I once saw the ghost of what I think was my grandfather. The reason I'm not 100% sure is that all I saw was a cold, dense cloud. I was at my grandfather's home a week after his death. I was there to clean out the refrigerator and toss out all the food. The trash can was behind me. Now and then I would back up and look over my shoulder to toss stuff out. After being in the house little less than an hour I felt ice cold air across my back. Startled I turned around and there was the dense cold cloud as half an apparition. I passed my hand through it, but it didn't disperse like you think a cloud would do. Even though I have an open mind I was terrified in a way I had no time to think. I bolted out the front door with my cell phone and begged someone to come and get me. I refused to reenter the house. It's one thing to hear scary stories from the safety of a video; quite another to truly experience it without a calming narrator. LOL Later on I came to believe the reason my grandfather appeared at that moment. See, my grandfather grew up and lived in the Great Depression; a time in which one scrimped and saved. Throwing out perfectly good food would have been an abomination to him. :) No wonder he came to visit me as I threw out his food.

On December 23, 1981, my husband and I arrived at the Crescent Hotel on our honeymoon. The room they gave us reminded me of an old hospital room. On Christmas Eve will shopped in the town and drove through the beautiful hills. That night we were in our room and started to hear a man's voice coming from between the walls. It sounded like he was in unbearable pain. Good thing we both didn't scare easily. I would love to return.

I lived in a haunted home. Bound by finances and commitment I couldn't just leave. It was absolutely terrifying at first and at some points even in broad daylight. I honestly became more comfortable with it after my son was born. I realized, aside from the intimidating male there was a mother there with me. She would gelatine when my son cried and kind of felt like a partner in raising him. The male however seemed to sick to a certain area of the home. (The kitchen and bedroom directly above it) Otherwise we ( the female and I had the majority of the home. She ticked or typed a lot. She'd stop everything I went toward the room the sound was coming from but she would get so loud and frantic with the typing my husband thought it was his kids hammering away on the keyboard and would yell for them to stop ( mind you, they were rarely home when it happened) we moved after 10 years when our youngest was 4. I never realized what a relief that would be. I was so used to it I thought that "heavy" feeling was normal. It was like removing we>his from my limbs. I instantly lost 10 pounds at our new home without a diet or excessive. If you can move away from negative things you should. Turns out it's like moving through quick sand. I miss the activity even now ( my youngest is 19 now) it was good company but bad for your health I guess??? The hat man came here, where I am currently ONE time. I never knew what he was until I saw him. 5 seconds of my life I will never forget but he left and never returned.

I have stayed at the Crescent many times back in the 80s and 90s before they did ghost tours and before they had a spa. I met a local girl who showed me around and told me all about the resident ghosts. Once when I stayed there was a knock on the door about 2am. Repeated knocking. As soon as I opened the door it stopped, close the door and it started again. Nobody there. Another time I overheard a guest at the front desk asked why they had a maid working so late. They said huh? The gentleman told said he woke up in the middle of the night to get something from the vending machine and say a maid pushing a cart going down the hall. That had to be the ghost of the nurse. I love that old hotel and have been over every part of it. I love walking the grounds. I get a peaceful feeling there. Never scared.

I grew up in Van Buren. The King Opera House was a short walk away from my house. Never went there but that whole downtown area is very very old. My best friend’s house was a historic house built by a judge and the stairs leading to the master bedroom were the actual stairs from the hanging gallows. There was a graveyard on that property as well. Never had any experiences with ghosts in that house but the basement scared the hell out of me. The basement was basically the living quarters for the servants. There were two rooms down there and I was absolutely terrified of those rooms, especially one of them. I definitely think there were spirits down there. And they were not nice. Never saw them but there was an overwhelming negative energy down there.

My aunt once bought some used furniture. Of course the dog was scared to death of it. The dog slept in her room that night, away from the furniture. She woke up to the dog growling and looking in her direction. He felt a pressure like someone was sitting on her back. What i think is fascinating is that she heard a buzzing noise in her ear like an electrical buzzing. She got up went to the dog and looked back and a little giggling girl was on her bed. She said she freaked out lol and did what her mother taught her and went to her knees and prayed. It immediately left. They got rid of the furniture

Do tell. I have had one ongoing experience that lasted for 7 months. I wasn't afraid. I was fascinated! My father thought it was funny because he thought I was pranking everyone. Scared the crap out of everyone else lol. I just talked to him like a roommate. I was 16 at the time. I researched the land that our condominium had recently been built on. Our unit was atop the land that the original house had been built. The land owners name was Henry. I talked to him by name. He moved paintings and leaned them against the kitchen cabinets, put dining room chairs in the living room, moved the nicnacks in my room, knocked on walls; all the good stuff! People would come screaming down the stairs from the upper unit in the middle of the night. Soon the for sale sign went back up. We had 3 different families live there in those 7 months! All came out screaming 🤣 I had a chat with Henry and told him about the light. That all of his family & friends had died too but they went into the light. I asked him to leave me a sign if he chose to go be with them. I was last to leave that morning. I shut & locked the door. I was 1st home after school. The front door was wide open. Never heard saw or felt another Henry moment

I worked at night as a maid but when you hear footsteps coming your way but the hall is carpeted and then scary cold thru my body and footsteps continuing on behind me!!! I left my cart right there and went home. Lol. I was a housekeeper at Basin Park but the scariest thing that happened to me was going in a room to clean it and every single available surface was covered by bags of drugs and piles of cash... I backed right out of there and avoided it for the rest of the time the honeymooners were there. Haha... Eureka Springs is a charming place. There's something for everyone. Ok post here since it looks to be a year old and no one will likely see. I never told this story before but when I was a young child I had an abusive mother. Very abusive. Mentally emotionally and physically. Well my father lost his job he held in a manufacturing plant after 22 years. We lost our home and moved to a farmhouse some 50 miles away. Now I really liked it because it was on 35 acres and came with a garden and a horse I had to care for. My mother had issues to this day I still do not understand. I told myself for the longest that she had mental problems- yet I witnessed her do things that she planned out and enjoyed. Cruel evil things. So it’s not like she was unaware. Anyway second day in home. I was given worst room in house. Even though there were other options. I was laying down for the night when I noticed a foggy cloud like thing come from other room ( it was floating so about idk 6 inches underneath was nothing ) It stopped in front of me but I did not feel afraid. As a matter of fact I felt a real sense of calm and peace. Then it moved on to other room. I went to sleep not worried. Two days later my mother was upstairs where the bathroom was ( at top of stairs ) and came out headed down and suddenly fell forward down the stairs. Now she was not significantly injured. More pissed for real because she claimed she was pushed. Tried to blame me but could not because I was in kitchen with father. ( he never spoke against her or stood up for me ever) but he said. No she was here. The man whom owned the home ( really old man) came by to fix something a few days later and said that there is a room in the barn ( which was huge ) that is locked and should not be bothered because it contained his deceased son’s belongings. He stated his son died in the war - He went on to reminisce about him a bit. Said he feels truly sad because his son was drafted and made to go to war and all he ever wanted was to work with abused and neglected children. Said he was truly kind hearted but ferociously protective… said he never got to live his dream… I think he did.

I used to live in Monticello Just down the street from the Allen house and a good friend of mine owned the property, it had two giant magnolia trees in the front yard. I visited the house often and my son has been all over the place, he loved to play hide and seek there. He had been hiding in the attic one day and he saw the lady in white., After that I couldn't get him even go back in the house!!! I tried to convince him that the spirit wasn't a bad one but he wanted nothing to do with it. I have two favorite rooms there, the dining room and the room over the porch, to me they were the most comfortable one's in the house. Every other room felt like someone was watching you, following you and it made me feel uncomfortable. Couldn't understand why, for sure but I wasn't going to say anything to my friend I decided to wait for them to tell me if they ever seen or felt anything after all they lived in the house so I would assume that they would have more experiences with the spirits of the house but they never mentioned anything so I didn't either.

In my Hispanic/Latino cultural side some people, particularly women wear black clothing for mourning a deceased loved one for a year. Some go for more time, but that's when relatives step in and help the person to move into the next step; not to forget the deceased, but to learn how to live with it day by day. Men would either choose to wear black too, but most chose to wear a black ribbon on the shoulder or a back pin with a cross on it.

Poltergeist Activity. I experienced stuff in my old flat where apparently the previous tenant, you guessed it, an old man had died in. It was the top half of an ordinary terraced house on a council estate just around the corner from where I live peacefully now. Now I came out the bedroom early one morning only for the kitchen door to close right before my eyes. It shut right in front of me. Not slammed but pulled too. This was reasonably firm to engage the lock and not easily done. I tried everything to replicate it, opening the bedroom door quickly as I thought the draft may have done it but no, nothing, no windows open, no draft, I tried opening my bedroom door quickly to see if that was what caused it but no, I just couldn't do it. So ok, that was weird but then one day I came back from walking my mums English Springer Spaniel Bella. Got in through the door, bent down I as I went to take her harness off a wooden tray about a foot square which had sat on top of the coatrack for at least 6 percent months or more decided to leap off where it had been and it hit me on the back of my head. Again, no wind or fuck all, it really shouldn't of done it now as you may know, I'd witnessed a ghost 33 years before at the time so I know full well there's an afterlife but so far up until the door incident I really wasn't about to admit to anything of that nature. That was until the day, a few weeks after this happened I was in the kitchen getting my keys as I was going out I went to walk out the kitchen when a stone about an inch round that my dog has a habit of trying to play ball with and as such had been yet again confiscated and put there by me thought to hurl itself off the microwave on top of my fridge and hit me on the arm. I was a good 2'feet away tho I didn't see it fly and yes it struck me on the left forearm. No that was it for me, I tried yet again to think if any possible way that it could of happened and I was stumped as you'd imagine. If by any possible way I could have made it move by opening the same spooky ass kitchen door it would just fall. It's a stone. Stones do not decide to leap off the microwave on top of my fridge and fly through the air as a rule. If they do feel like flying they usually drop, ah yes you've got it. Like a stone so wtf happened there? I wasn't in contact with anything but the door handle. It was unexplainable to say the least. It all culminated one night when I was in bed with the dog and no thats not a euphemism for my other half as I'm single and no, I'm not into bestiality either, I just had borrowed Bella my mums springer since the door incident because I'll be honest, I just felt better with her around after that. I always felt uncomfortable there, as if I was being watched and being as we'd adopted each other, it worked. Anyway, I'd had plenty of nights like it before where I up just felt like I was being watched as I Kay in bed. It's hard to explain unless you've felt it yourself and with the prior knowledge I had of the reality of spirits, it made it even more uneasy for me. Anyway it culminated the one night when I was petrified, I don't know why but it just felt intense in the room and had so for hours. I was lay in bed, under the duvet scared to even open my eyes in the darkness. In the end I'd had a fucking nuff of it so I half jumped up on the bed, Rambo'd it as Caspersight says and pretty much screamed "come on then, let's fucking have it" Yh, just like that I'd confronted whatever was bugging me and I felt better as I thought of what my Nan once told me "it's not the dead that hurt us, but the living" So true. Now apart from the reminder of my sore head from the tray hitting me on the swede I found this to be excellent advice and with that mindset I didn't have any more weird things happen after that or any more drama. Here's the best part. Full Bodied Apparition. www.quora.com/What-are-the-creepiest-paranormal-experiences-one-ever-had/answer/Marc-Lerigo Thirty years ago two friends and I were crossing the fields to go home from my aunts and uncles who'd we'd been visiting during the school summer holidays when something caught our attention from the left, along the footpath that passed across us as we travelled. IT was a guy on a horse wearing 17th century clothes, long cloak, I could make out his tricorn hat, popular back then and before. The apparition was fully visible but spectral. It raced along the ground but not touching at a faster rate that any thoroughbred from Newmarket could ever hope to achieve. It was around 100feet in front of us and we witnessed it for a few seconds before it vanished into the hedgerow that ran parallel to our journey. We pretty much all shit ourselves my two friends and I and we raced back over the fence, ran back to my aunts house we'd just left, to beg for a lift home. We were obviously disbelieved but we definetly knew what we saw, now I'm not saying it was a ghost but if it wasn't I'd like to stop him and have talks about becoming his horses trainer, he can carry on as jockey as we're going for the next Grand National. Boy can ride, they figuratively were like on rails. It was a really spooky area Lugwardine, where I lived with my Nan in a ramshackle Tudor black and white cottage.along the appropriately named Black Hole Lane I kid you not. Apparently the Black Death had hit the village hard in the late sixteen century but man it was spooky as fuck riding home at night from my mates house a couple of miles away. It was the countryside and Black Hole Lane lay in the middle of a valley so a mist or fog would settle and I always remembered having plucking up the courage walking down that fucking lane at night and there were two trees, one opposite the other. Old, gnarly trees that died a long time ago that I'd have to pass an have to pluck the courage up to keep walking, I wouldn't of got home if I didn't, it was the only way but then I just used to remember what my Nan said to me, who did believe me that night unlike my aunt and uncle. My Nan also told me that that footpath used to be a bridlepath back in the day so horses would have used it so I don't know, it could gave been a highwayman and we did have a famous one here hanged in hereford, a William Spiggot if I recall. Anyway, that was over thirty years ago but I still remember it to this day and I love watching paranormal stuff though most of its bollocks and if I had footage of what we witnessed it would blow any known footage out of the water, it was that good. Ouija Boards. Now lastly my experiences with ouija boards. My gang when I was at school used to go up to St. Paul's church up by us and they do ouija boards on a grave in the cemetery. They'd put a towel over the grave and talk to the dead. I say they as I along with two friends never did the board as they said we'd mess about. I gladly agreed and I'm glad to this day I never took part. They got a result one night or it went wrong and they all screamed. Three of us, me and two others seen them all running so we rode off shitting ourselves. After five minutes or so we hesitantly went back to the graveyard to a terrifying sight. My very own next door neighbour Alan was flat out unconscious, lying splayed across the path. He lay there with his eyes wide open but they were I shit you not, glowing red. There was absolutely no reason for that tho he was under a lamppost. He was never the same. In fact he was considered the hardest in our school because he could already fight but he was just crazy with it after that. He just didn't care, he didn't really need to fight he was just scary, taking on the gangs we used to fight, challenging groups who backed down, he just got major front after that. Weird. Anyway the girl who looked after the board Becky used to take it back home with her and apparently had been using it alone as she went from a bright bubbly pretty girl into a white as a sheet, sullen introvert with very dark eyes. She had to be exorcised by Mrs Payne our RE teacher and a catholic priests. If you made it this far well done. I'm just a normal, average guy, reasonably intelligent and I'm rational also. I can't explain any of what I've related, the how's, the whys and the whats, the flat, the ouija board but hand on heart how I know ghosts are real? Because we saw that horseman that evening clear as day. That settled my mind on the matter, it had too, it was completely unexplainable bar it being a ghost. Yh, the afterlife is a definite thing ladies and gentleman.

This triangular shaped hat I’d seen in the dick Turpin programs on telly. Nobody can tell me ghosts aren’t real. Even the stuff that happened in my flat 36 years later was incredibly weird. A stone flying and hitting me and doors closing in front of me all of that I’d have chalked it off as strange I couldn’t definitively say was paranormal tho it was but seeing a full bodied apparition is a whole another ball game. It’s a little harder to debunk a fully grown ass man whose transparent along with his horse who doesn’t run but glides twice as fast as a real, normal horse across the ground oh and they don’t vanish when hitting hedgerows full in at 60mph!!!!! I've been to the Crescent Hotel many many times I never saw anything unusual until the very last time I went. They had a resident cat named Morris. Morris was laying in a chair. As I walked by I decided to pet him. He started purring and moving around so I could get his favorite spots to be scratched. He was so very friendly. A few days later I learned that Morris had died a while back and that wasn't him that I was petting. Also, back in the 1980s I visited the Peale house to take a tour. Never saw anything unusual no ghosts or Spirits or anything but at that time they're still bullet holes from the Civil War in the woodwork around on the front porch and different places. I did not see them mentioned in this video so perhaps when they remodeled the house the last time perhaps they got rid of the bullet holes.

Yes they can. I experienced that once in the middle of the night when I was 13 years old. After waking me up, I saw an old man standing right by my bed staring down at me. He was wearing a buffalo plaid field jacket and blue jeans, but I didn't see a face. He then went through my closed door, through the closed basement door and I could hear the steps as he went down them. They were very old and creaked loudly. I was quite scared and went to my parent's bedroom on the other side of the house. My mom had heard the steps too and thought I had gone down to the basement. That image is still perfect in my memory.

My husband and I visited the hotel about 20 years ago and we went on the ghost tour it was very interesting to say the least everything went great with the tour nothing happened until we started going down to the basement part we got about half way to the morg and I couldn't go any further it felt like I don't know like pressure on my chest I couldn't breath so I had to go back up and leave my husband behind I couldn't finish the tour it was crazy and while I was standing at the stair way leading down to the basement in the dinning area where they were setting up for a party one of the tables had flip over and it was loud it scared the mess put of me no one was around the table at the time it flip over so that was mind blowing to say the least.
