Steve, it takes a special kind of pilot to do what you're doing, but you've been doing it for so many years now. You really got it down. You are still number one!

love to watch your attack on the STOL courses - also really enjoy you talking about the yamaha engines and how they will work for GA pilots - peraps hit on float plane application with the Yammys as well as X-Country - Float flying we might want full power sometimes for up to 1Min.... mostly only 30 sec. Turbo for the mountain flying and X-Country crew and non-T for mid-western and south group. You ave a ton of knowledge - like to hear from you sometime Steve - thanks for the vids. Appreciate. Very nice piloting. Absolutely LOVE the Yamaha engine in your bird. Im working on a zenith 750 STOL and i would love to use a yamaha engine in it. Don’t know if anyone has done it yet. But it would be awesome!

Real flying at it's finest!!! Got a question...what is the smaller lever with a black knob directly underneath your flap lever? Is that for trim? Keep the blue side up! Best wishes! 🇺🇸 🍻

I believe it's for tail wheel pressure. He dumps tailwheel pressure on take off to get a bit more AoA

How does this low level over flight over people on the ground mid course lay against the "500 foot" regulation? I'm thinking of the Trent Palmer fiasco.
@PTRRanger9517 ай бұрын
They are in a landing pattern, and landing. Just like there are airports where airplanes fly within 100 of vehicles on the ground right before the touch down and take off.
@donaldbustell7 ай бұрын
@@PTRRanger951 So it is still considered a landing pattern even with all the change in heading (not just 180s like in STOL drag)?

They get a waiver from the FAA for the event.

Listening to this, now I know why the Idaho backcountry is within years of being off limits to general aviation. With little if any useful load, and no pactical applications for camping, the future for others to follow in very quiet access is about to end.
@yamkaw3467 ай бұрын
What do you mean
@SteveHenry7 ай бұрын
My airplane is in a competition set up here for this competition with no muffler. When I’m flying in our backcountry, I have a big muffler on and it’s quiet. The Highlander like I’m flying probably has the most useful load and one of the biggest baggage areas of any light two place airplane. It’s an awesome aircraft for backcountry flying and camping etc.. I would never even consider flying it up to the backcountry, making as much noise as it makes here in competition with no muffler!
