I adore that line. With just one episode of an animated series, the entire, canon- wide characterization of Mr. Freeze was changed from a one- dimensional mad- scientist villain who happened to have an obsession with all things cold, into a brilliantly- developed tragic villain with an almost Shakespearean level of depth.

Yep. Before BTAS he was just a generic villain with a cold theme who just stole diamonds to power his suit and nothing else. But starting with the animated series he became a loving husband determined to cure his wife and willing to be ruthless and do anything to save her while suffering a fate worse than death himself by having to stay permanently cold and being immortal as well when by the events of Batman Beyond all he wanted to do was die so he could join the long dead Nora. In the episode Deep Freeze when Grant Walker says he wants to become immortal like Victor Freeze says "Old and infirm as you are I'd trade a thousand of my frozen years for your worst day."

Mr. Freeze is one of my favourite Batman villain of all time, not because he is cool (no pun intendet), but he is not a bad guy because he want's to, but because he has to. He is not a bad guy, he just makes bad choices and only to save his wife. And you also can feele his sadness.

Imagine if, as Bruce Wayne, he gave Employees the fullest value of their surplus labor and bought out businesses only to turn them into worker owned co-ops. He nearly killed Victor. And just handed a tape to some reporter that meant nothing but a slap on the wrist for Boyle.

andrew garrett in the version that most people go for though he was originally funded by Ferris Boyle. Once Ferris got what he wanted he terminated their project and shot a gun into the chemical set Freeze was using to cure Nora.

in fact Nora also appeared in the Batman, in a photo of Víctor's car I imagine that at one point Víctor would look for her and realize that she was sick and from there he tries to cure her

In my opinion, Mr. Freeze is a criminally underrated character. Whenever people think about Batman stories, who is the villain that First comes to mind? Joker. Always the Joker. Or bane, or penguim, or these other guys. But for Freeze, there are people that don't even know who he is, let alone write stories with him. Which is a shame, because he is one of the most dangerous and sympathetic villains in Batman's rogue gallery
