It's actually not her spine, Crownslayer was just mistaken in thinking this because Monst3r takes the form of a crystal when he's not deployed and that crystal was hidden behind kal'tsit when she called for him.

What does the Crownslayer and the Church of the Deep have in common? Going "what the fuck is that? WHAT IS THAT?!" when encountering Mon3tr. It doesn't actually come out of her spine, which is why they didn't do it there. Crownslayer says it comes from her spine but Mon3tr actually comes from a crystal that Ex-Wife keeps right behind her.

Kal or Mlynar purely from a meta standpoint. Kal is more independent and the best true damage dealer, true damage ignores dodge and damage reduction. Mlynar does SIGNIFICANTLY more damage, but its almost all physical and he requires blockers as support due to his archetype being near useless while off skill.
