The low voice that the doktah makes is really quite fitting in the beginning. He just got out from a very long sleep, weak and frail, like Talulah said a "ghoul" only to take charge on a evacuation mission he is forced to command. With fragmented memories like that and a body so weak you ought to wonder what the doktah's voice is like before restoring to proper health.

Hope the Developers will do a good work. I'm stating the obvious here, but anyway let me point this out: if they do this properly, they have potentially found a gold mine. With all the materials they already have and the big playerbase, they could potentially do lots of seasons and episodes and earn a lot. It all depends in how much money and efforts the developers invested in this project. Personally, i hope that they truly believe in this anime and as such they have invested all that's needed to make it good and succesful. Good luck Development Team

Ok, after watching the first episode. I am so relieved and hyped. It did not suck, which is the most important part. They really threw out a lot of mystery, especially for people who didnt play the game. The animation is on point, the VAs are on point, the story (we know the story is dope). I think this could be a banger. They need to really focus on the world building, as in my opinion thats one of the greatest parts of the story. Also im still missing some of the banger OSTs. But otherwise, gj to yostar and hypergryph.

The "I don't want to die!" in JP voice got me.... It had me feeling bad for that person, I almost teared up Also, I saw that the anime only features Chapters 0-3 with 8 episodes. Seeing as the... heart-tugging parts doesn't start in those chapters, watchers who don't play the game will experience a slow-burn type of storytelling

The "heart tugging" parts only start because the writers get you emotionally invested into the characters. The first act is perfect because it sets you up with expectations only to remind you that this isn't a fairy tale with a happy ending, it grounds you down to the reality that anyone can die and the worst part about the whole thing is that these people are dying for someone they're not even sure is worth all those lives yet. What I'm not sure about is whether or not the first person point of view of an Amnesiac is the best idea for storytelling in an anime since this leaves people who don't play the game with zero clue of what's happening as well, just like when you first played the game.

I can already imagine the multitude of questions I will encounter while watching the anime: "Who's this Doctor?" "Why is the Doctor put into a coma?" "Who's the person that put the Doctor into a coma?" "Why can't the doctor remember anything?" "Can these people that rescued him be trusted?" "Why is the Doctor commanding a battle after they've just woken up?" "Who are these Reunion people?" "What's Oripathy? What's Originium?" "Why does the cute donkey have so many rings on her? How many does she have?" "Why is W so crazy?" "Why is Kalt'sit so mean to the Doctor? What did the Doctor do to warrant that emotion on her?" "What year is this? Is this still Earth?" "Why do these people have animal ears and tails?" "Why is this anime so depressing?!" This isn't all but it's all I could think of. I hope the audience will get curious enough to know more and just download the game already 😌

@@eclaireeeest there's no context for the plot after all. It'd be a miracle if first timers understood anything from just the first season. If anything, I'm worried that the anime reviews will be low because of having only 8 episodes with minimal context on basically everything.

Like the right not to know everything all at once and let the story explain itself. In other words, the audience who don't play the game will slowly know everything along with the Doctor. I'm sure they can get a gist of it, even if they don't fully understand everything

This is the exact reason some really good anime flew under the radar for quite some time before getting acknowledged. It's the same reason why 86 isn't mainstream despite having a really good story and plot.

While the events of the main story are pretty dark and serious, I hope they implement some of the more casual and fun elements to lighten the tension, like an episode between Chernobog and Lungmen focused on the interaction between operators or the Doctor being introduced to the base.

If you're referring to Azur Lane then the creation of Yostar Pictures was nothing more than a coincidence. The issues with that series were the fault of the production committee which Yostar itself was a part of. Bibury Animation was simply a victim of poor planning from the higher ups

It's very unlikely all animators will be in-house. The credits have already proved that they're outsourcing work to other studios

@@nytt1256 In-house animators are those that work at the main studio. In this case that would be Yostar Pictures. However it's very rare for studios to rely on their own animators for the whole production so they'll request assistance from freelancers or outsource work to other studios.
