Something that I don't often see in her showcases is the hefty +25 res she gains on s3, which is nicely showcased in the last steam knight fight where she survived all of the air strikes with no healing. Note that this also seems to be without her passive dmg reduction taking effect since there are no elite/boss within range. edit: my mistake, the dmg reduction does take effect by default, but it doubles with elite/boss in range, so what we see in Steam Knight air strikes is her with 8% dmg reduction instead of 16%

Surtr -20 res talent is unbeatable it seems. Viviana looks fine tho.

Surtr is dead on arrival, helidrop her, activate skill, wait until she dead, redeploy. Simple gameplan that always works because helidrop skill+immortal+res shred is busted Vivi is more typical, needs a little bit of setup but she sticks on the field for round 2 unlike surtr. The real powercreep is reed having the explosion and not vivi. Average reed enjoyer W

Surtr is pretty much literally the community byword for braindead unga bunga nuke so... yeah. Her kit is meta-distorting levels of overclocked. If you calibrate expectations below that tier of ungodly busted Vivi's basically fine, what now could probably use bit higher numbers across the board and _oh god why does that shield only work against melee srsly_

I think it's pretty huge, sp cost from 30 to 25, and atk increase from 75% to 110%

attack becomes triple strike, so whatever the difference - multiply it by 3 with triple strikes and arts dmg, she is a great sponge for buffs

It also makes her reasonable if only she didn’t have to compete with That Which Is Surtr S3 and her 22% Res ignore. Still it wouldn’t feel as bad if she didn’t embody the the boss as a villan vs on your team meme. (Also her having at least 10% res Ignore innate or in S3 wouldn’t make her too op)

That's not a very high hurdle to clear. Baseline enemy!Vivi is pretty wimpy really, it's the mad buffed CC incarnations that came later people keep thinking of for some reason.

I still have grudge in her kit because 1. It doesn't deliver the nuke she is known for. She have the attire, candles and all but not her nuke is kinda turn off for me 2. Her shield is melee only. There is a LOT of boss that punish tank-spank strats and have ranged attack even if they're blocked. Idc about the dps and stuff, meta is no longer fun for me. But her kit should be at least fun for a hyped operator.

As much as she is mid (Though i am a fan of her and got disappointed by looking at the numbers ngl), this MN EX 8 video is actually a really good showcase of Viviana where the tester was holding the activation of S3 from 2:45 even when Viviana starting to block the boss and tanked him. A showcase with her talent 1 tanking with taking reduced dmg combined with talent 2 shield and later S3 dps. Props to the tester for her proper S3 showcase.

​@@Giovansbillyit's fine to have sub optimal unit release once in a while, some games subscribe to power creep with every new unit, arknights tries to balance releases. The unit vivi would have to powercreep is literally surtr, HG doesn't want that to happen yet. The point is that vivi will be good enough for most content and has her own quirks to play around with. Deerknight/leithaknight player will be very pleased regardless.

@pougetguillaume4632 i dissagree a lot with the Vivi and Surtr comparison, It make sense for Surtr to have more DPS than Vivi cause she died after using S3. Surtr works better as a Helidrop and destroy bosses while Viviana is good for clearing elites mobs and dish out bosses, tho this is why i mostly compare her to Hoederer. Hoederer can attack two mobs and has two blocks three if using S2, and secondly Hoederer can pump up his HP to 100000 using S3 with lifesteal, DOT True damage, Shelter, Stun, increase 4000 damage, Increase tiles, and 70 Sec duration while still mostly standing alive in the battlefield unlike Surtr. While Viviana S3 only has 3 strikes hits, Shield, Increase def and res, and increase damage to elites, increase damage by 110%, increase tiles range, and 25 skill duration....

Still have doubt about her, i mean she is a defensive art guard and with 0res she can outdamage surtr but with only one enemies while surtr can killed multiple. Her s3 skill cycle is nice but she entirely depend on that for her survival. Moreover we need 2nd skill activation for maximal damage. And i dont really like how she doesnt have anything unique other than shield but its also chance based unlike mudrock. If she can only go unga bunga then i'd rather stick with skadi guard.

I'm still confused how people are saying she's weak when her 3rd skills is the currently strongest single-target kill switch in the game, not even counting it having the best buff/debuff synergy in the game. It easily trumps Surtr's 3rd skill versus single enemies - yes, not versus multiple, but that hardly changes that the best dueling skill in the game, not just in offense but in defense, has now been added.

I'm somewhat disappointed, not because of her so so performance, but rather her gameplay design choice. She should be a caster with delayed AoE charge skill just like the original design when she's still an enemy, this would fill her in an interesting niche with unique gameplay. But what we got is boring ass guard with "press this button for higher damage" type of skill, truly uninspired and lame.
