Arkona - Summer Breeze 2024 - ARTE

Fondé en 2002, le groupe russe Arkona est une figure incontournable du pagan metal. Les albums Ot Serdtsa K Nebu et Khram témoignent du parti pris musical des Moscovites : un metal épique et puissant mêlant riffs féroces, textes profonds et instruments traditionnels russes. Leur concert au Summer Breeze 2024 est un événement très attendu !
Avec Arkona, le Summer Breeze Open Air 2024 fait battre le cœur de dizaines de milliers de métalleux. Quatre jours durant, les festivaliers savourent ce que la scène metal peut offrir de plus riche et de plus varié. Le tout dans l’ambiance unique et détendue de Dinkelsbühl, petite ville du nord-ouest de la Bavière qui accueille la manifestation depuis 2006.

I love this band, i've seen them over 8 times. But Masha's vocals range don't fit with this whole ''Lets go back to black metal all the way'' period. I respect the artistic decision, and the songwriting is good, but they'd need a guy to step in and do some black vocals, cause Masha can't. All she can do is those half-ass death vocals. It's defeating the whole project and halting the band's progress when they were at their prime. They were on a serious rise right before this black trip, and now they're almost back to where they were 10 years ago. I think the timing was right to explore this black side, cause they explored alot of the pure folk and viking elements mixed with their original genre, but this whole black trip requires some good black metal vocals. Especially if you want to please your crowd, whom most of these people were not gained from the black metal LITTLE part of Arkona. I'm pretty sure it was Sergei's idea to go black, cause he always was that guy, and he's the main songwriter. Can't believe he thought having Masha do all the vocals would go well with his plan. He took the little fame gained for granted. Sorry but somebody fucking needed to say this. I only say this because I want them to be successful and I see what went wrong.

What the fuck are you talking about? Arkona is not a Soviet band. The Soviet regime has been gone for quite some time and the blatant prejudice against Russian people is out of hand and terribly retrograde. Putin is not a portrait of all Russian people, nor should his actions be seen as representation of what Russian people want or stand for. Western Europe has its own historic flaws as well, so come down from your high horse.
