Okay, so I totally watched this when it first came out, but tonight I was looking for one of *your* swatching videos because I desperately needed a few minutes of relaxation and calm. I just wanted to say that I bought a small print and the gouache eyes set last week, it came today and I got the two prints because it cost like 27 or something, then there was another print a bit smaller, then there was a super sweet note and on the back of it was another print, then there were two beautiful business card size art, and I’m going to put those on a magnet, and the gouache eyes. Needless to say I am so incredibly happy with my purchase, a bad day became a good day. Thank you so much and happy birthday.

And I’ve also seriously been considering reading short stories in my videos over timelapses! =^.^= you might enjoy Zaccura’s channel if that’s your jam, since she writes short stories sometimes and speed paints to them. I genuinely might go to dubu today or tomorrow specifically so I can just calm paint in cafe clover. (After delicious soondubu, of course.) been needing a moment of peace after the absolute ridiculousness that is me having taken on embroidery. And doing my AAC piece. I hope this vid does well because I personally want more of these and need some unwind spaces available.

Notification squaaaad~ I have Sakura Kois, do you think these would be a good step up from those? I'm debating on the Kuretake Gansai due to their vibrancy but id like to try a true western set of waterecolors. Thanks :)
@dorotapokret41496 жыл бұрын
Compared to sakuras both of those are surely a great step up . The real question is wat you want to use them for . You see since the formula of Gansai Tambis is different to western watercolor they tend not to do great when used for wet in wet ( they look super pale), also they are not very lighfast ( White Nights are a bit better) and I would say actually a bit less pigmented ( still very good). On the other hand White Nights probably have less paint overall ( their pans are a tad smaller than other half pans), and they don't lift as well as Tambis . Overaly I think White Nights are better ( they are artist quallity after all- Tambis aren't) I'd say go with White Nights even a smaller set of them- they won't dissapoint you.
@hannahdeards96526 жыл бұрын
Dorota Pokręt The Tambis are actually artist quality, they’re just not intended to be for the same usage as western watercolours 😊 (They’re not even watercolour. They’re gansia which is similar, but has different properties and binder) Just because something doesn’t have perfect lightfastness, doesn’t mean they’re not artist quality! Copics have horrendously poor lightfastness. They start to fade within a few hours of sunlight, yet people shell out hundreds on them.
@lecelly66976 жыл бұрын
I dont care much for lightfastness, Im mainly painting in mix media/watercolor sketchbooks. Im drawn to the gansai because of that price range, vibrancy and how I paint. I love having extreme vibrancy. I dont do a lot of wet on wet either.
@dorotapokret41496 жыл бұрын
My bad then. I didn't mean to be unfair to Tambis ( I have them and love them a lot).I just was wrong it seems but I wil know better now. Thanks! And yes I know you don't need to be lighfast to be great after all White Nights are not super lighfast too and I don't care. I do art just for kicks anyways - just wanted to be frank about the to brands thats all.
@godzandheros4 жыл бұрын
@@hannahdeards9652 lightfastness is important if you are going to sell your original work, copics aren't really used in that way and obviously are fugitive because they are INK. ink will never be lightfast no matter what brand or kind of marker you purchase.

I think she already does have one. Where she reviews quite a few brands and over alot of price ranges go have a good look through them shes got heaps of reviews of all sorts of brands. At the end of the day it depends on what kinda art you make what your style is and money. I find it pretty fun picking a brand i really want and researching it fully before i make my purchase.
@bethanyeleanor86796 жыл бұрын
@@psyphantasia thanks I will look at those reviews
@khan70326 жыл бұрын
bethany eleanor first off, if you’re a beginner I recommend starting with pan paint, such as winsor and newton Cotman set or the kuretake gansai tambi paints. typically, for beginners having a pre-made and already set up palette is less stress and you don’t need to worry about picking certain colors, where as with tube paints, you do. If you run out of watercolor in your palette, then you can buy tube paints and refill your pans with the color you run out of. tube paints are an option, too. with tube paints, they can be more helpful in a way that if you set up your palette and run out of watercolor, you can always use the tube paints to squeeze out more paint. however there are convenience cons to tube paints, some being that you need to wait for your paint to dry before using (ESPECIALLY if you will travel will that palette, or else your wet watercolour will mix with eachother and create a disaster. another con is choosing colors, for beginners especially this can be stressful. you should have all the basic colors if you use tube paints, such as warm tones, cool tones, earth tones, and maybe include some pretty bright flowery spring colors, or a couple more colors that you enjoy. If you buy individual tube paints, a pro is that YOU YOURSELF choose the colors in your palette, and if you buy a set of tube paints and run out of one color and want to buy it again, you will need to buy the whole set of tube paints again unless the company you buy the set of tube paints from sells individual colors as well. DISCLAIMER *** you only need to choose colors for a watercolour palette when using tube paints. You only need to choose colors if you are buying individual tube paints. If you don’t want to buy tube paints individually, then you can always purchase sets of tube paints. A really good, affordable set of tube paints is the shinhan professional tube paint 30 watercolor set. The shinhan set is super cheap, only $25 on amazon prime! Plus you get 30 7.5ml tube paints! Do be aware that if you purchase tube paints you will need to also purchase a separate empty watercolor palette. Mijello sells really nice palettes and so does MEEDEN on Amazon (I think that’s their name) As you can see, it depends on you now. Whatever is easier for you, do it! :) I recommend buying both pans and tube paints and experiment with them both. Good luck finding something, I really do hope this helped you. Always remember to do your research and really try best to find good paints that you’ll like, watching reviews on KZbin is so helpful. Remember, if you want any recommendations for paints, these are mine ! Kuretake Gansai Tambi Winsor and Newton Cotman Winsor and Newton Professional Sakura koi Shinhan (professional , PWC) Van gogh White knights Daniel smith Schminke M Graham Qor Sennelier Mijello mission gold Mijello silver class if you need help with anything else, feel free to ask me.
