I know that when you press s it takes a few seconds for the heli to start actually going down, now do you need to start pulling up right when you initially press s or do you wait for your heli to start dipping down before you pull up and turn?

Thats a good one and probably didnt cover it enough. Press S, wait a second then turn. That way your collective starts lowering a bit and your rotars power is reduced.

Id imagine someone has done it using a Hotas 🤔 I have a media team member who has a full Hotas system, ill see if they can make something. Otherwise I plan to have one innthe coming months for the purposes of games like DCS.

Depending on D A, Temp and whr the wind is, ths may not realistically be done. It would be easy to "mush" thru due overload of the rotor and crash. Evn wth a fully articulated system.

@@BigDGaming that's what I thought, but still I gonna try and see if I can do anything to make J-landing less vulnerable for AA and suppressive fire ( for now I learned taking a sharper J turn helps a little)

This was a good tutorial BUT you’re gaining way to my altitude. You want to keep the altitude while hooking, that is the proper way of doing a j hook because the whole purpose of a J hook is a fast landing that bleeds of speed. It doesn’t matter when you bleed off speed if you’re 100m up and then have to hold down collective for 20 seconds.

Correct, the altitude part was something we were still tinkering with but never came back to, arma helicopters are great at gaining altitude way to dam easily!

I saw video from squad.. Infantry is insane.. Really good work but for the love of God why physik for chopper is so much arcade..coming from DCS world.. Where I'm chopper's pilot u can't do that..otherwise u and your crews members would die in a huge crash... J-hook even in the real life is prohibited.. So for the love of God... Why all of you want to teach j-hook to others... Never ever make j-hook to drop troops on the group... or even for evasan mission... À tunguska or a shilka in the same area and you will die... J-hook is a shame... Stop arcade games and try to improve your skill as pilot in real milsim

I understand you point of view, but if the game allows it and people want it, then we will teach them. We all know squad and arma sre not realistic physics, thats a given, but being able to perform these stunts is what attracts people to the game. You 100% can perform j-hooks in real life, the degree of the jhook heavily varies though depending onnthe helicopter itself.
