Hey! Thanks! It is possible to get a lot from watching videos. I myself started by watching Vanzor Rox. Not the best time for KOTH though. Hardcore (1st-person-only) servers are almost dead. The game is old. People mostly moved on.

Yes FPS helps. The biggest influence is on CQB encounters when both you and your opponent know about each other. But I got my first decent results on a GeForce 960m laptop, which could barely run Arma 3 KOTH at 30 FPS on lowest settings, with dips to 10 FPS in the worst situations.

I just avoided direct confrontation, trying to flank and shoot unsuspecting opponents. Getting in the situations in which FPS does not matter. I do the same now too most of the time.

@@lowskillcamper yep when i'm in the AO with 90player + is fucking lag. I think, I have to upgrade my PC now 😅

@@champdelta98 Yes, this is the worst case. On a 90+ player server, in the AO with vehicles burning and smoke grenades popping, my new PC is keeping 40+ FPS (100+ at spawn on en empty server). The previous one dropped below 20. I could still get "premeditated" kills, but in the thick of action it was pretty much random and not skill-based. Now I can actually fully enjoy playing on full servers.

How much more fps do you get on your new pc?

Maybe 40% more. But I've enabled supersampling now. The game renders at 200% (5120x2880) and then downscales to 1440p. The image is much clearer with more details visible and very little aliasing. But the worst cases have improved by a lot. When there are several vehicles burning, and a lot of smoke grenades active, and 80 players on the server actively fighting, I can still do CQB without drops below 40 FPS. With the laptop there were dips below 20 in these situations.

Hey! Nothing special. Just thousands of hours on infantry servers. Vehicle servers are the biggest money drains. Otherwise check my "Player progression" video tutorial to get some hints on how to make it a bit more efficient.
