DYEL grew out of a mission I made so I could so I could drink booze around a virtual campfire with a friend I couldn't meet IRL, just wanted to be able to move the camping chairs around. It took on a life of its own. Always love these lists, gonna try Project SFX: Remastered and Real Engine.

That AI avoids prone mod is going to be a godsend in the vanilla campaign and my single player AntiStasi campaign

@@benpascoe323 I don't think so. I just started the game. Did a city supply mission. Nato show up. I gift them bullets. QRT helicopter show up. I kick them all. APC show up. I brought AT. It's never ending forces. Until I die finally. Restarted on easy mode now. Don't know how would it goes.

Reinstalled Arma 3, haven’t played it in years, close to when it came out. The game is so much better now, runs better with my newer pc, has tons of content( campaigns, mods, etc). This is becoming my favorite tactical shooter ever and it’s definitely to most complex and the most deep. Used to play Wasteland online, after I’ll finish the campaign will check it out.

It's honestly not that hard to get consistent sight alignment while shouldering, you just have to build muscle memory. You can do it in a couple of hours. Align might simulate the average person's first attempts to get a sight picture well, but this certainly isn't realistic for a soldier, and definitely not for an operator or even a moderately skilled civilian shooter.

You’re right, it’s more akin to average/untrained troops. It would be more realistic if the align effect worsened when fatigued. Still a fun mechanic I’m glad they introduced.

Thanks man! Honestly, one of the best missions are Dynamic recon ops coupled with a Echo's Sandbox Everywhere. Generates random missions for you to play, and you also have Zeus functionality if you want to play around a little.

I'm usually searching through these videos for a way to increase view range on servers because trying to fly in a multiplayer session when your view range is an infantry view range is very difficult but these mods are definitely up there on my list for qol mods, especially mods like real engine.

@Viper1Zero, A suggestion: revisit some QoL mods you suggested and help people who have trouble with those. For instance, CH View Distance does not work for some people, doesn't even appear on the addons menu. Some mods may get deprecated or haven't been updated in 2 or more years. Sometimes info is lacking. You can also help there. 👍

After consolidating most of the mods from your every list, I experienced the most incredible version of ARMA I could ever imagine. However, I degraded from averaging 70 fps in a combat situation down to 15 fps in any serious mission. Now, I am in the process of decluttering and choosing which mods have the most impact for each fps spent. I know you consider performance when recommending mods, but have you considered making a video of impact/fps-based prioritization? Or are you already doing that each time you make an updated list? Cheers.

So each list is independent of each other when it comes to FPS/performance. The smaller mechanics mods have the lightest impact on performance, with the highest hitting on FPS being blastcore, and that’s only when there’s an explosion or smoke. The game in general nose dives even with a lot of vanilla assets in game at once, so truthfully if you want the best bang for your buck I would only load mechanics mods and maybe a handful, like 10 assets mods that you’re going to actively use.

I'm not sure how Reduced Haze Mod works now. Ive seen conflicting reports on whether or not it works without Apex or not. I just use CH View Distance myself.

Using @VileHud mod, how can a player figure out which grenade he will throw if he hits "G"? I tried a dozen times to turn off the my HUD using the ACE3 mod, but each time I had to turn it back on, since the player has no idea, what kind of grenade he will throw if will press G button. Unfortunately in Arma3 there is only one way to see it - to look at your HUD... It would not be bad, if someone created a mod that allows you to see the current grenade for throwing in the player's inventory!

Yeah that is the only downside is that you cant interact with objects without the menu, and you cant see what nades you have. ha. Just gotta quickly bring it back up and then down.

I think the best solution would be to show the current grenade in the player's inventory. I think this would allow disabling the HUD without the slightest problem.

Helicopter turbulence is pretty bad for realism, as it's quite constant, IIRC there's no way to make it sporatic it's just mostly a constant and makes you sick tbh. IRL Helicopters do not have constant turbulence. However, I will say it is pretty accurate in terms of feel.

@@sebsterbl Why hello, first of all, great mod, our group used it for a very long time. I am unsure whether they had it set to be a constant or not as I do not run our group, however, it was non stop turbulence and I must say, another reason we canned it was because sometimes when we had to hold a hover and when our frames were low, it just made it that much harder, so it's not entirely the mod at fault. But I've piloted a little bit in a IRL in a very small helicopter and I must say, the turbulence was few and far between, it came in bursts, instead of at a constant during the whole flight. Whether that's a setting that can be adjusted I have no clue.

@@Roebuck325 I've experimented in the past with making nearby objects influence the turbulence severity, it may be time to visit that again and also see whether turbulence can be more sporadic. It wouldn't be hard to do at all, and could also be adjustable. So keep an eye on the mod I guess. I' m glad to hear the turbulence feels realistic when it does happen so I won't change anything about that.

It was a PIR Project Injury Reaction mod effect. It wasn't a flash bang, just a regular grenade going off nearby.
