I'm a new player in Arma 2 and I can't believe how deep this game is. One thing that some people are unfamiliar with Arma 2 is that the massive map is being played in realtime. In other words, while you are in one area of the map your friendly troops are fighting 200km away in another front and you can radio them orders in realtime. Heck, even bullets are tracked through out the map. The complexity of the mechanics of gameplay and dynamic A.I. is something I have never seen in a game.

GBU bombs require a spotter on the ground painting the targets with a laser designator. Alternatively they could use the laser from the observer position in the Huey.

Kinda sucks how none of the planes in ArmA 2 (at least the US ones) are really loaded out for dogfighting, carrying only two air-to-air missiles. Of course, that's what we have god ol' fashion guns for. Though planes are a bit difficult to fly with a mouse and keyboard- I need to find my old joystick.

You need to lock on. The MKs don't have a propellent. So you need to drop them from a high altitude and greater distance so that you are at about a 45 degree angle away from the target.

Yes you can go supersonic, top speed varies to the jet. difficulty is pretty high, definetly not an arcade control style. takes awhile to be able to master the controls of the helicopters let alone jets.

yes, mine swishes back and forth. i'm sure it is a bug. It happens after you damage the aircraft but seems to keep on happening after that when you spawn a new one...

@shizaquife Hey shizaquife, yes the flying is done with a Joystick and Track IR Pro. However you can still fly just as well with a keyboard and mouse!

First, Arma and esp. Arma2 are the best and most realisitc games. But, the main island tscherna.. is to small for jets. It would be great to have an island with less villages etc but bigger. For example 200 km x 200 km. So you can fly 10 min. without to come to an end. But the most important think is, that the enemy KI Jets are very easy to shoot down. There should be KI Jets with much more better skills. Like when they see, that you are behind them, they should try to escape from your sight.

Great game, but there are some things i just hate....like that Helicopters explode all the time, if they hit the ground hard, that you cant land planes without the Landing-Gear, i hate the Bugs, that still occur quite often, and i would like if you could choose the armament of the Things in the Editor more precicely...like having the coice to arm each weapon separatly

Joystick is definitely easier, keyboard makes jerky movements, its almost impossible to hold a smooth bank. joysticks are so much easier.

i didnt find the helicopter controls too hard but i have a joystick so its easier just dont ask me to buzz anybodies house because in not the best at N.O.E flying jets however are bloody impossible to shoot things in...and im not shure how to tell where the bombs are going to land

the jets cant go supersonic although the plane he shot down in the first shot can go over 800 somethings per something probably kilometers per hour. the planes are easy to fly
