as an actual tanker I will tell you, you guys did alright you broke a lot of tank rules but that's expected. a few things though: 1. always use thermals 2. gunner aggressively scan 3. Sabot is only for heavy armor (how it was designed) 4. if you have enemy armor in area and troop support, tanks stage in a turret down position and scan until infantry locate tank, then you move in. TC rarely gets out to scout, normally loader would go, its his job.

I'm an 88M in charge of ammo for a tank battalion and I was thinking that exact same thing. I've done training for in combat support with the tanks and they always hang back until us, or the 11Bs catch sight of enemy armor.

+Pedro Portela - Given how awful of a gameplay experience it would be to have the coax in this scenario, we didn't have it. It's one of many considerations made towards gameplay in player vs player scenarios.

I know, but it's drilled in me. Gameplay and fun value always comes first in ArmA3, but for that fleeting second the Tanker in me was in horror, but the gamer in me would say "it's just a game". Still, seeing a Saybo round hitting the ground would scare anyone. Now a HESH round would be a different story... Too bad they aren't ingame.

+Pedro Portela When ever the gunner shot I was thinking to myself that he should be saying On The Way lol. I wasn't a tanker but I was the comm chief in a tank unit. Got to listen to it all the time with the tanks hot mic'd for training. Driver move out, gunner take over! I was lucky enough to load 5 rounds of 120mm for a guy and also got to put 5 down range at Ft Knox during Top Gun Comp. We had surplus ammo left over. Got Damn its a rush when that breach comes flyin by!

14:00 ah reminds me of an irl tank footage of Turkish tank gunner running out of HESH ammunition and using sabot to take out an YPG militant. The conversation between the commander gunner and loader was really fun. "Load again!" "We are out!" "Dont we have sabot load it!" *gunner fires the sabot and scores a direct hit on the poor guy* "THE GUY FUCKING DISINTEGRATED" "HOLY SHIT DISINTEGRATED!!!!!".

Didn't the First Abrams destroy a T-72 before being Disabled by the Second T-72?

+F145h1 No. There was only one T-72 which disabled the first Abrams with four shots at an oblique (about 30 degrees) to its front turret and right side. That Abrams was operational, just the turret was out of commission. This video has the second Abrams engaging that T-72 which was evading to the north after disabling the first Abrams.

When approaching the crest of a hill turn control over to your gunner so he can advance the tank just enough to clear the gun and his optics. This will prevent you from sky lining the whole tank or worse find your self over the crest and on the down slope.

Loved the combined arms. Dslyecxi think you guys can do bigger/wider scale mission with more vehicles? When you guys include armor its usually extremely entertaining. Kinda like your old videos from the ARMA 2 days when you guys ran through the woods with BMPs avoiding BMDs while Hinds hunted from the skies. I'd love to see the T90 implemented with its horrifying glowing "Dazzler's" during a night mission.

I think it was a balancing factor, defenders got to scout the terrain and set up before blufor entered. The flag helps keep it from being too cheeky and ruin the fun for other players.

I was in a light infantry division and they sure could have used some 60mm mortars on those hill tops. Spraying indiscriminate .50 cal machine gun fire was a waste of ammo and wasn't suppressing squat.

How do you feel the new CUP vehicle update compares to RHS? I like it since the optics aren't fundamentally broken (at least with my modset) but RHS is so much prettier and are you guys using ACE now? I saw some cheeky shrapnel and you want deaf when using the .50

+George Rushton I fielded some of the first M1A2's in the Army circa 1997 @ Ft Hood. The M1A2 has had the same man powered cradle up until the GWOT gear like TUSK / CROW started being added. Also, the tank in the video is depicted as an M1A2. The CITV on the front left top of the turret and the Ma Deuce cradle give it away. Sincerely, a 19 year, 19K30.
